Gills opposite Blues

If we have to be opposite to Colchester that means that we will be at home for definate for the first game of the season because the Football League have agreed that Colchesters first game will be away because the Cuckoo Farm wont be ready on time....... Now who do we fancy at home ????

Not necessarily. If Col Utd were to have been at home, they might just swap their fixtures around with the opposition.

I really don't get this at all - why on earth would Gillingham want to be opposite us? Whilst they are only just over the water as the crow flies I cannot believe that any of the fans in their catchment area would be driving across the bridge and down the A13 or A127 to watch us instead.

Anyone been on a Gills forum to get their reaction and possible explanation to this?

There's not a ground share in the offing somewhere down the line is there?

Build a great big f*** off island in the middle of the estuary and stick a super stadium on it. Train lines and roads from Southend and Gillingham over to it and we could both share the ground. Brilliant idea!

I'm not sure all the boats going down the Thames would agree

I heard they could ground share with Ipswich but I think its extremely unlikely
