Gilbert to leave?

He's not playing at the moment, and to be honest when he has played he hasn't offered anything that Francis couldn't, so I don't think he'd be greatly missed were he to return to Arsenal.

20mins for the stiffs and then subbed after a right rollocking by DA... seems good if he left us because:

a)he hasn't shown he is better than hunt or francis at RB
b)we should be looking to keep our squad players happy, and he will never be our player

If he's disruptive, get him back to Arsenal & free up the wages/loan fees.
Keep in the pot for someone else or upping Leon's contract offer!

Didn't realise Whelpdale scored for Posh yesterday!

deflected shot.. apart from the build up to that i cant say i was particularly impressed. our youngster jonny hern coped with him pretty well

It's a pretty big jump from the Ryman league to League 2, so I'm not surprised it's taking him a long time to adapt. The Billericay fans still love him, they were singing his name at last nights cup replay with Heybridge.

Gilbert going is no loss.

Didn't notice anyone of the Peterboro players as being extremely better than anyone else on the pitch.

Whelpdale is a wrong un. Apparently when he turned down Southend in favour of Paedoboro' he said "Southend are a **** side in a poxy ground with ****tish fans and I would never sign for those two-bob ***** in a million years".

Actually he didn't say that at all, I made it up. What sort of name is Whelpdale anyway?

I think he is worse than both Francis and Hunt and his only redeeming feature is his pace.

I would be gutted to loose the realtionship with Arsenal however as it seems we are getting there youth team casts off which is fine.

Wouldn't be sorry to see him go at all. Can't believe he's played for Arsenal, he doesn't seem to possess any composure or control. I'd prefer Che at right back than him!

Now, now.... don't be silly.
I remember him being much better than he's shown here when he played in the Ar$e's first team a couple of years back as emergency cover. Maybe the higher division suited him better.

He's only played when he's had a winger in front of him who didn't want to be here (JCR) or one who was basically playing centre-mid (Bailey/McCormack). Gilbert got slaughtered on here after Brighton when he spent most of the game having to mark two players at the same time.

Surely Arsenal would want to find out his faults in a first team environment. Lets face it, if he isnt any good for us they are hardly going to keep him.

I thought he played in the Arsenal reserve team that gave Chelsea a football lesson for 60 minutes in the League Cup final last season.
Shame if it doesnt work out, although as a previous poster said it would be good to keep a good relationship with the Gooners and possible future loans in future. Look what they did for Birmingham last year.
