Get The Crowd "Going" Music

Theres the problem, you will never get a general consensus on a song.

I personally cant stand the song we currently play, feddee le grande or whatever. Sounds far too chavvy......

Let it be is a good one but doenst really getting the crowd going crazy.

My thoughts exactly - and paired with the goal celebration 'music' it gives a bit of cheesy impression overall. (Personally I don't really think we need music after we've scored - can't we just listen to the cheers of the crowd?)

Hey Jude and Ring of Fire are used as chants during the game, but as you say don't really get the crowd going. It's a difficult one, this, as everyone likes different styles of music.

Get a marching band to play some classic tunes (great escape, hey jude etc) on the pitch before the match. Lets face it we have had opera singers, unknown celebrity talent show losers etc, that do not get the crowd going, lets go back to basics & bring back the marching band.

So i think that we are all agreed that we will never agree on anything!!!

I can't agree with that! ;)

Surely, we all agree on here that Dennis Wise is a whining short-ar5ed little "C U Next Tuesday"?

I had my money on MK coming back with that retort first.....you have truly surpassed yourself with such cutting edge wit!!!!

On Wobbly eyes....AGREED

If it's all about atmosphere, then why not play the songs that will get people singing, just like "Hey Jude" does at the beginning of the second half?

"Hey Baby" is absolute toilet but I have found myself singing along through my unrestrained joy in the past as we've equalised against some team of northern monkeys. Replace that with the right song and we're on our way.

The intro to the Pet Shop Boys version of "Go West" would be ideal whenever we take the lead as it will undoubtedly launch the stadium into a rendition of "1-0 to the Superblues" or whatever the score might be.

Similarly, if we equalise, then a loud orchestral version of "feed me now and ever more", bringing the crowd together in a chorus of "you're not signing, etc".

Instrumentals which encouage the crowd to fill in the blanks might be the way forward, and more effective than some random piece like Hey Baby. Seriously, when we've scored, what the **** has it got to do with wanting to know if some baby wants to be my girl!?

Wasn't "Hey Baby" introduced as people started to sing that when Freddy first arrived and scored a goal? As in "Hey Freddy"? I'm definitely in the "it's toilet, get a different song" camp though!

When Freddy scored (and the der der der der... Freddy Eastwood had caught on), they used to play pigbag. That certainly got the crowd going!

You can't have that! WBA sing that "Go West Bromwich Albion..."
I don't mind "Hey Baby" - at least everyone sings it at the same speed! Nothing worse than group singing when different areas of the ground are singing the same song but at different speeds/lyrics.
"Hey Jude" is OK but a bit dreary.

Peter the Taylor had them running out to "Run to you" by Rage - absoulte toilet. (the song not Peter the Taylor)

Some other Club has I am sure I have heard it on the TV but Frankie Goes to Hollywood, when two tribes go to war !!
Always loved the Intro to "A team" or the countdown intro (5, 4, 3...)to Thunderbirds,

Thunderbirds is a good shout.
You'd need the announcer to have good timing to play it though, as when you get to the 'Thunderbirds are go!' bit, the team would really need to be running out the tunnel.
