Get The Crowd "Going" Music

I am sure I heard Big Brian say on Saturday that the club were looking for suggestions for music to, I assume, get the crowd "going" shortly before the teams come out onto the pitch.

He said that any suggestions should be sent on to the commercial department.

Did I imagine that request from Brian? It was shortly after been charmed by a lovely BlueBelle into buying a half time draw ticket so I am not sure.

So if true maybe we should send in some suggestions for due consideration, so folks what do we think?

I am sure this has been done before but this is, unless I dreamt it (not that I am admitting to dreaming about Brians announcements obviously), a request from the club rather than a slating of the current offerings.

You didnt imagine it, it was announced at Saturday's game. However I dont mind the current songs but the goal music of Hey Baby is embaressing. That needs changing urgently!

Hmmm, I saw in the programme that Brian had suggested a few choruses of 'Oh, I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside' could be one to get the crowd going (or should that be leaving).

There was even the words printed alongside his suggestion, though the lyrics printed made no mention of a bucket and a spade and a f*****g hand grenade. At least we were saved a rendition of Reginald Dixon on the Wurlitzer and Big Bri conducting from the centre circle...

... though now I think about it, maybe it's just what we're looking for!

My first choice would be Kiss - God Gave Rock and Roll to you.............this would work so well with the crowd singing - God Gave Southend to you.....Put it in the soul of everyone, and it has a really good build up to the start of the song which when the crowd get used to it would go crazy..... Ignore the vid that has been cobbled together on Utube and just listen to the song.

I quite like the pre-match music, and even the rendition of the Beatles 'Hey Jude' just before each half kicks-off gets a few people giving it the old "La La La La La La La, La La La La Southend ! ! !"

The best improvement of all this season has been the lack of "Dangerous" Brian going on about West Spam results.

From a fans singing point of view, The 'We're the West / South / East Stand" chant is building up some momentum and will get better with each home game.
