My flatmate purchased one this morning and has since printed a copy of his bank statement showing the £150 going from his bank, is this now legally acceptable?
Why are you asking Napster?

Hmm... if they've already taken the cash, that makes their job of proving it was a mistake of fact at law a fair bit trickier...

Terrible PR for them, in any event!

I don't think the money has been handed over yet....

The bank will have shown it on the statement / account as part of the ensuring there are sufficient funds in the account process.

years ago you could rack up DR card purchases above what was in your account because the shops were not connected to the banking system, these days the banks update transaction by transaction so they do not authorise anything beyond an individuals spending capacity.

I don't think the transfer will not go to the retailers bank that quick

Regardless of the technicalities of when acceptance is deemed to take place, if I'd an arguable case I'd be threatening them with legal action if they tried to fob me off.

A 42" plasma TV costs, what about £1,500? It'll cost Woolies that to defend any claim. Cheaper (and better PR) for them to settle than to fight.

Chaps sorry to say that it looks like a misprice and they can pull back on this offer:
"Item cancelled by us at your request, or as notified by us (Email, SMS, Account Message or Phone Call)."
Jesus.....

just looked at that message board and its initially full of people rushing to take advantage of the error (no problem there ) and then telling the site mods to delete the thread so that their order can go through !Once the orders have been cancelled they then blub to watchdog and anyone else they can think of because they got rumbled.

have a punt, if it comes off, well done, if it doesn't, move on........

That happens all the time - there are so many pricing errors - some retailers honour them others don't.

Always keep an eye out on those forums for any potential steals.......

thanks for the heads up...

I would imagine sites like that make it easier for the shops to moitor their mistakes too.

If say 10 or 15 of those tv's went through in a couple of hours they may not have noticed

a couple of thousand / multiple orders (someone ordered 4 !! ) and the alarm bells would ring pretty early , allowing them to cancel the lot
