It's been a while since I had this nervous feeling... probably Sunderland at home was the last time but that was much more cut and dried. If we win or draw today, we just get another game (or 3) to play. So we won't have won anything.

But regardless, what a season.

Take over completed in July, 3 weeks after everyone else had come back, we miss all our initial targets due to the embargo.

Before the end of September we lose Cardwell, Miley, Collin and Kensdale (all for different reasons) which rips the spine out of our team.

Despite the euphoria surrounding the exit of Ron, we struggle to bring in re-inforcements. At Christmas, after a very poor run of home games at 3pm on a Saturday (which we seem to be jinxed with), we sit around 15th and nearer the bottom than the top.

There were a couple of new players that came in but they took time to settle. But we ground out a few results and did well in the evening kick offs at the Hall.

And here we are, final day of the regular season, sitting in the highest place we've occupied and with a chance to finish in the NL play offs for the first time.

So whatever happens today, COSU, the management, the players and the staff, I salute you. What will be, will be etc. but with everything that's gone on, for us to be here on the final day is a fantastic achievement. Personally I think everything is aligned for us to succeed but the game can be cruel sometimes

I'll be at RH cheering on in front of the big screen.

COME ON!

BLUE ARMY!

Anyone looking for an omen, look away now. One Essex team has just suffered a defeat. The county cricket team has just been beaten by Somerset when at times yesterday it looked an odds on Essex win.

Essex doesn’t allow for two defeats in one day, it won’t look good in the Evening Echo tomorrow.😉

Just arrived at the Gateshead International Stadium. Man, it's packed! Got the final parking space in Car Park 2.
