A good turn out for us would be about 1500+, the club are trying to publicise it but for such a football mad area of the country no one wants to come and watch little old Gateshead. A lot of people are put off by the running track and being so far back from the pitch, others say the club is never going to go anywhere because it has no money, we’re just owned by fans mostly, no money and only saved from going under in 2019.
There is parking at the ground but it’s first come first served. Ground is situated partly industrial estate and residential across the road, no idea how safe the on street parking is tho. If your willing to walk as someone said above the there is a large Tesco about 15-20 min walk away with underground parking which is close to local pubs/shops for more secure parking. If you’re getting the train into Newcastle you can get the metro from Newcastle station to the ground.(5min walk).
For local pubs I’d prefer The fog on the Tyne only about 5 min walk from the ground. Need any more info look on https://footballgroundguide.com/lea...ce-north/gateshead-international-stadium.html might help some of you guys out.

A small club battling against the odds needs support, but as you say, clearly not from Toon fans, which still surprises me even though I know the reasons.

I know what I would like to happen, but this one is just too difficult to call. IF we are up for it from the first whistle, then that will do me, but Gateshead are no mugs, especially after their disappointment last season, and this season being in the mix all the way through until now, that may be motivation enough for them. We will know by 5pm Monday. (What a rubbish day to play these games on, National League!).

1. We score an early goal and maintain a high press. Gateshead score on the break against the run of play. But then we score a second goal and Gateshead panic. We end up winning 3-1.

2. It's a nervy first half for both sides and it is goalless after 45 minutes. Gateshead burst out of their traps at the start of the second half, overrun us and score twice. We swiftly pull one back. The rest of the second half is full of tension as we search increasingly desperately for the equaliser. Then with just five minutes left Gateshead cjdfxbdg and Bonne dkjxzlkfhg.

BEN Goodliffe is focusing on Southend United’s future rather than his own.

The defender is on loan at the Shrimpers from Colchester United until the end of the season.

But the centre-back is not thinking beyond the end of the current campaign at this stage.

“I’ve got another year left at Colchester and I’m sure talks will happen once this season officially finishes,” said Goodliffe.

“There are conversations to be had about what my future looks like but I’ve come here to play football and I’ve been doing so.

“It’s been good but I’m only thinking about the game against Gateshead and making sure of the play-offs.”

Blues head to the north-east on Monday, a point ahead of eighth placed Gateshead – meaning anything other than a defeat will make sure of a place in the play-offs.

And Goodliffe is determined to help the Shrimpers extend their season.

"It will be a great result if we can get it done and a great achievement for the club too," said Goodliffe.

"Everyone has been working hard throughout the year and it would be nice to get something rewarding out of it.

"There's a lot riding on it but we have a lot of momentum and confidence going into it.

"We attack each and every game and this game is no different but the stakes are higher we know that."

Goodliffe will again be looking to play a key part and not just in defence.

The 25-year-old scored Blues' first goal in their 3-0 win against Wealdstone last weekend.

And he is happy to be hitting the back of the net more regularly.

"It’s my best season I’ve ever had in terms of goals," said Goodliffe.

"I’ve got six this year, with two for Southend and it’s been nice to get a few more goals than I normally average but hopefully there are more to come."

But Goodliffe's main goal is to help Blues get back in the league.

"This club has always got the potential to be higher," said Goodliffe.

"It’s one of the main things that attracted me to come here on loan.

"It’s been great and the stature of the club makes you hope they can achieve something big."
