With regard to Liptak being here three quarters of the season and still not being ready, we signed Scannell from Eastleigh and brought him into the team straight away (albeit as sub) didn't we?

Blue Square South to League 1 is quite a jump I'd say and he's looked pretty good so far.

Perhaps Liptak will make it, perhaps he won't - we'll never know unless he plays will we?

I have to agree with you there, although Bela was signed with a view to a permanent deal, he has played a fair number of reserve games as well and looked pretty good, he is only 23 so it could still happen.

The trouble is, if he shows himself in the championship to be as good as his pedigree suggests, someone else will nip in and offer a better deal. You are effectively just show-casing him, and letting him learn the English game at your expense.

Unless you are now hiding him in the reserves until you get a permanent deal sorted.

Scannell hasn't started, plus has played (and presumably impressed) in the reserves.

Liptak has been playing, both for Stevenage and our reserves. That should be providing sufficient evidence for Tilson to decide whether he is ready yet.

Ah! So that makes it ok then.

The player who is now our only replacement for Spinner & Efe managed 4, not 2, appearances in midfield for a Conference team. Marvellous!

Sorry I don't get this. If he's not good enough to get into said Conference team at centre half then how can he be good enough for us in that position? We're short on "proper" bodies, i.e. people who can hold a 1st team squad place down or be rightfully in the matchday 16, for the 3rd season running & I can't see the cunning plan here.

All this building for the future is well & good but come on, if we're sending players out on loan & they can't get in a team 2 levels below us in their right position what is the point. Also what happens if next Saturday AB & Clarkey both get injured? Stick Nicky Bailey at the back & play Lippo alongside Capt Crab?

As for sending our new No1 out to a team to sit on a bench. Couldn't we find a team who's keeper he was better than?

We are not that clever :)

With Zoltan though it is a completely different scenario. He doesn't speak the language and it's not as if it's like in the Prem and we have several players in that same boat. He's the only one who doesn't speak it. He's not used to everything about this country.

Arsene Wenger always says it takes at least 6 months for foreign players to bed in. The difference is, they can bed in together sometimes, where as Zoltan is very much on his own in this country. Well, other than his girlfriend I suppose and she can't really help him in games! Just think how tough it must be for him coming here, not speaking the language and not knowing anything whatsoever about his surroundings. I'm sure he'd never ever heard of 90% of the teams and locations in League 1.

The reserves and Essex Senior Cup will have no doubt done him good and I'm sure he's far more prepared and settled now than he was a couple of months ago. The start of next season will be his time to be honest.

Oh and lets not forget we beat a Bundersliga team to get his signature. He can't be that bad can he.

im gutted about richars leaving, i dunno the stats but we always looked more solid with him in the team even if he did just hoof it!

If Liptak is still not ready why then is Hammell playing? They must share similar problems i.e. need to learn the language and adjust to a higher standard of football.........

Liptak wasn't expected to feature for at least 6 months. Thankfully Tilly and Brush can see a bigger picture than you and are building for the long term rather than the short term. Whether that will be successful or not, I don't know but its the right tactic.
You appear to be fighting a losing battle on this thread. As you said, Tilly said in the summer Liptak would need six months minimum to adjust. I do not remember one post moaning that Tilly was looking long-term at that point. It's only now we are in a bit of bad form, that everyone is once again, looking for short-term solutions.
