We didn't earn anything out of it last year, all the money went to Leukemia and Lymphoma research which we and the Zoners were happy to support to the tune of about 2k. :smile:
 
Please keep digging for all that spare cash. So far less than 1% of our current usership have sent in monies, it would be nice if a few more people could also offer some help with the costs of running The Zone.

Some of my not very hard earned money is now winging its way to the SZ account via bank transfer.

The harsh reality is that the Zone has become something of a victim of its own success with its ever expanding user base meaning continually rising costs. The Zone has always relied a bit on cap in hand but with two major contributors dropping out and less money coming in to fund the Zone's continued existence, we're now relying more on Zone members making a contribution - even if it's just a small one.

Strikes me that the alternative is for the Zone to become a pay-to-access service which would massively alter the user-base and probably destroy the experience for all of us. No one wants a paid for Zone but I'd take it a thousand times ahead of comments like... "Do you remember ShrimperZone?"

Sorry to be dramatic but the Zone needs pennies for the meter.

Is it worth a pound a month? Or even the cost of one beer a month? To echo John and Ken's rallying cries, please consider making a donation via the links on John and Ken's signatures. I'll be putting my money where my mouth is because I know how much time I spend on here and how much I enjoy it.

Come on folks - a fiver? a tenner? 12 quid for a pound a month?
 
I'd happily set up a standing order via paypal, could someone post instructions?
 
Surely you have a bank account for the Zone, easy as pie to set up standing orders into that!
