Freddy's Best Moments

Ok, i know it isn't finalised just yet, and i don't want to tempt fate- cos i would love Freddy to stay, but it is looking more than likely he will be moving:(. So i would just like to know from all us SUFC fans and whoever else posts on here; 'What Were Freddy's Best Moments In An SUFC Shirt?'. Many spring to mind, but there are so many; his 7 second goal vs Swansea/free-kick vs Man Utd. Theres loads, but in the opinions of EVERYONE what were his best moments??

The way in which he pretty much single-handedly dissected Chesterfield at Saltergate last season - no-one can deny that we didn't play well, and Freddy pretty much beat them for us with that hat trick!

Freddy's second goal away at Swansea. Such a confident, cool piece of finishing in the game that secured promotion.

from last season -

the run and shot from 28 yds out that went inches inside the post against a
soton defence and midfield - so quick RH took a moment to realise it -

the cool "equaliser" against wednesady away, off the shoulder of the last man and left the keeper nowhere and in front of the Shrimpers support -

all eyes on the Essex boy as he buries the pen against Spurs, down on his knees in front of the support -

theres loads more ...

My top Freddy moments (In no particular order of greatness):

1. The 30-yard screamer to net a hat-trick at Bristol City on his birthday. What a strike that was.

2. THAT goal against Manchester United.

3. Scoring his debut goal as I was just about to take my seat. Good job I was paying attention to the kick-off as I took my seat that day.

4. Delivering the goods when we needed it most - his opener against Lincoln in the play-off final 2005.

5. The Chesterfield away game in 2006 - after the dire defeat at Brentford we needed a boost to keep the title charge on track - and what a boost he gave us that day.

vs Lincoln at Cardiff.

Not much of a goal, but after the heartache of the previous trips to Cardiff, to see a goal there was magical. It brought tears to my eyes, partly for what the goal meant & partly for my brother who had suffered the previous games (one in a wheelchair) & was so ill, he couldn't get to the Play Off Final.

If we had lost after that, I could at least go home & say we scored at the Millenium Stadium. Our win was never in doubt once we got our sh!te first half performance out of the way.

I still say the goal from literally the corner flag V Hartlepool. I will never know how he managed that.

agreed... that was when it really sunk in that freddy was the best player i have ever seen on a football pitch and probably had the natural talent to match anyone in my lifetime. players like ronaldo, rooney get all the breaks and chances and i dont think freddy ever got that... but his skill to put that ball away was just something else... it was almost offensive to the hartlepool team and he had no right to do that.

amazing

I know it's comman but is gotta be the Man U goal for pure memory reasons, or on pure class gotta be the blackpool goal.

yep that blackpool goal was brilliant... seemed like we had stuffed it up and he came off the bench and rescued it for us.

not saying this is my favorite moment, but its a very special goal that never gets mentioned much....

freddy's first goal against shrewsbury in the LDV, at home 2004/5

he rounded, and i meant actually got past, 4, yes 4, defenders in a crowed penalty area and then when he had dribbled his way past them toe poked th ball ander the goalie - increadible skill/footwork, and in many ways a 'better' goal than all those 20 yard screamers

The two goals agaisnt blackpool last season. The one away from home was incredible, and was up there as my favourite moment of 05/06. The one at home, 1-1 i think, with little time remaining, but quick feet and a quality finish with his left to give us a 2-1 win! The goal he scored agsint norwich last season, was quite superb, the hardest technique in football. In the carling cup against Brighton and the cracker of a goal versus southampton. He looked so assured when he scored at hillsborough, no fuss, just nice and simple. For a finish alone his goal against coventry on a cold tuesday warmed me up no end. His goal at ashton gate, the marvellous hattricks against swansea and chesterfield, the goal at barnsley 05/06, so very important and quite stunning. This kid is seriously good, and whoever buys him i hope you cherish him as much as we do here. I can't think of any goals he's scored that have been crap. I hope you return one day to grace roots hall freddy, an amazing player, an amazing talent, an amazing talent. We're gonna miss you!

Have to agree with the Shrewsbury goal, pure class, how about memorable miss, can I start with the last minute miss against Luton Town, when he rounded the keeper turned away to salute the crowd and well you can guess the ending

We should forget the misses, his goal against hillsborough was so simillar but you could tell he'd forgotten what had gone on before like all great players do, and calmly slotted home. All players miss, not all have the strength of mind to try the same thing again.

So many wonderful goals from a player who could (can!) make things happen out of nothing. The goal against Hartlepool from the corner flag sums up Freddy- a real finisher! I still hope he stays this season!

For me the goal against Blackpool at Roots Hall was pure, pure class. Not many players could have done that. Absolute skill.

His goal in the 4-1 win v Oxford in his first season. Ran from half way line past 3/4 defenders, stopped in the box, looked like he messed it up, then dropped his shoulder and with his weaker left foot smashed it into the left hand corner
