Freddy will be off so who replaces him ?

We all know and accept that Freddy will be off in January, so who realistically would you have in to replace him ?

May I suggest LEE BOYLAN who is currently at Grays but performed well for Canvey for a couple of years. I know he may be a stop gap measure to prevent relegation but who else would come to Roots Hall and on what wages ?

billy paynter got those rosie spec glasses on the future looks bright

Replace him? we have strikers already ....... and lets be honest here, for whatever reason he's hardly set the pitch alight so far this season has he.

Am I the only one that thinks that he's been totally out of sorts for a number of weeks now?

Freddy came to us from Grays and we will cash in, so why not Lee Boylan ? I know that Tilly rates him and actually tried to entice him to Roots Hall 18 months ago...

So far no sensible alternatives ! If we are to keep the money Freddy will generate and get ourselves a goal scorer, then we could do worse.

Freddy........................................Sunderland in January.................................£3m.....................................Riera, deal sweetner..............

come about 200 miles further south

Well if we got £3 mil for Freddy in January then i think that Billy Sharp would be a realistic target and would LOVE to see him here. And also, what about enticing Marcus Stewart from Yeovil or Michael Bridges from Hull???

As much as i would love Billy Sharp i seriously doubt we'd get him...

boylan i dont think is capable but maybe worth a punt!

Stewart is getting on and would seriously prefer and older player who has just came from the prem

and i seriously do not think bridges can handle this level anymore... maybe league 1 - 2 plus id think hed cost about £150,000

Maybe Andy Keough from scunny though irish international or u21 international he can score bring alot of others in to the games and costs less than sharp..

if not then maybe Nick Maynard from crewe or JCR can persuade Will Hoskins from rotheram both really young and can score!

Could do a lot worse than buying Paul McVeigh from Norwich - good pedigree at this level and behind several players at Norwich.

Bridges would be a tremendous signing particularly if we are indeed relegated, ironically though it is a player like Bridges that Eastwood could really do with alongside now!!!

Varney out of our price range, doubt he or Maynard would wanna come here anyway.

Sharp - NO CHANCE!!!!

Good shout. I think leaving Norwich and coming somewhere where he would get first team football would give him a new lease of life and I think he'd be a good shout.

Stewart and Bridges both, IMO, past Championship football. I'd love Sharp here but we'd have to break the bank to get him, and I can't see him being interested in coming here. If he left them, it'd probably be for a Prem or upper level Championship side.
