Small piece in todays NoTW, with Peter Taylor apparently wanting Freddy to replace Clinton Morrison
...and some in the Prem I would wager.[b said:Quote[/b] (Beefy @ Oct. 15 2006,11:52)]I'm sure that every manager in the division wants Freddy Eastwood.
Lets make a topic for each of the managers that want him then[b said:Quote[/b] (canveyshrimper @ Oct. 15 2006,11:56)]...and some in the Prem I would wager.[b said:Quote[/b] (Beefy @ Oct. 15 2006,11:52)]I'm sure that every manager in the division wants Freddy Eastwood.
Reality is if we are offered ÂŁ3m we'll almost certainly take it I would think. The really worrying thing is should an offer like that come in close to the January deadline with little time to strengthen the squad with the proceeds Eastwood's departure would almost certainly result in relegation and without Freddy we'd struggle badly to bounce straight back.[b said:Quote[/b] (D62SUBOY @ Oct. 15 2006,16:21)]Would we want to sell? Definately not, not even for 3 million. As has already been stated by RM.
There's no way Morrison would come here on loan, he's an arrogant sod and he'd definitely think little old Southend was way beneath him.[b said:Quote[/b] (The Big Shrimp @ Oct. 15 2006,19:19)]If it happened it will probably be done as a loan deal first & then the sale would go through when the transfer window opened. A bit like the supposed Sunderland deal.
If this was the case, we'd have a bit more time to do something, perhaps Morrison being offered as part of the deal, even on loan?
Hopefully Freddy will stay to the end of the season regardless of what happens. His 20+ goals will win us enough goals, especially if Stan comes back, which is rumoured to be a done deal.
Morrison would probably be offered, but getting to accept is another matter.[b said:Quote[/b] (Angell Delight @ Oct. 15 2006,19:30)]There's no way Morrison would come here on loan, he's an arrogant sod and he'd definitely think little old Southend was way beneath him.[b said:Quote[/b] (The Big Shrimp @ Oct. 15 2006,19:19)]If it happened it will probably be done as a loan deal first & then the sale would go through when the transfer window opened. As for Stan I'd say that's HIGHLY unlikely, he loves the club and we love him too but I'm sure he'd only consider us a last resort. I'm not convinced he'd want to return to a Championship relegation battle myself.
I must have miseed that rumour....[b said:Quote[/b] (The Big Shrimp @ Oct. 15 2006,19:19)]Hopefully Freddy will stay to the end of the season regardless of what happens. His 20+ goals will win us enough goals, especially if Stan comes back, which is rumoured to be a done deal.
Be like he had never been away[b said:Quote[/b] (Angell Delight @ Oct. 15 2006,19:30)]As for Stan I'd say that's HIGHLY unlikely, he loves the club and we love him too but I'm sure he'd only consider us a last resort. I'm not convinced he'd want to return to a Championship relegation battle myself.

Haven't seen Tilly's comments on Stan mate where did you read them?[b said:Quote[/b] (The Big Shrimp @ Oct. 15 2006,19:40)]Stan may happen even on a short term basis, perhaps a pay per play arrangement. Not many teams would take the chance & if you've read Tillys comments, it would appear he would go for it if Stan is fit.
