If Fred had knuckled down in training at his previous clubs he would now be worth millions playing in front of large crowds in beautiful arenas maybe even playing in stadiums in europe and across the world and possibly going down in welsh folklore,Truth is he is playing basement football in front of a few thousand in drab grounds !

Can't argue with that. Seems to have living off that Man U goal ever since, we went on to be relegated!

I don't know about the other clubs he has let down but we certainly can't afford afford to carry him. I'm sure that the money he is pocketing from us could have used to greater effect elsewhere.

Goals since start of 2007 season

Benyon 50
Harris 45
Corr 35
Eastwood 26

Some context....

Benyon (50) 27 L2, 15 Conference and 8 Cup goals.
Harris (44) 2 Championship, 24 L1, 9 L2, and 9 Cup goals.
Corr (35) 10 L1, 19 L2 and 6 Cup goals.
Eastwood (30) 4 International, 18 Championship, 4 L2 and 2 Cup goals.

So people tell me whats Njie like ,is he a good prospect , also beefy you forgot to mention the young lad they just got on loan , he scored a couple against Burnham Ramblers, again people be patient toward Freddie ,im sure he will come good ,maybe he wont be the 20 odd goal savior but im sure his presence will open up gaps for others, and as for the manager ,i think Southend have a good one there, hes done so well since the mass exodus before he took over. GO THE BLUES !!

I had forgotten him, you're right. By all accounts he did well tonight. Unknown quantity. Although he's had disciplinary problems, we've had our share of those lately.

Not that I would want to be one that pours oil on troubled waters........................
I thought that I remembered Luggy mentioning that Freddy wasn't match fit and said something like, we shall have to arrange a couple of friendly games for him. Wouldn't last night have been a good opportunity for him to get some match time?

I think he just needs match sharpness, and he'll only get that by playing games. For one reason and another he's hardly played any football in the last 18 months, and it will take him time to get that sharpness back.

I wonder why he wasn't involved in last night's match.

your right their but not so sure if he will get to many games as he is gonna be judged on getting goals, think it will be hard for him to get fully fit this season if he aint getting the games for us, he needs another pre-season i think.
