Freddy Eastwood.will Be Fit Saturday

Well, we've only found out becuase somebody knows Freddy's Dad. Can't see Plymouth having that luxury!

My belief is that Fred has travelled with the squad , but as the OS is saying is doubtful to play . Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench tomoro .

I daresay that Olly has sorted out a game plan for either eventuality - we don't have that many options , do we ?!

The trouble, as someone said earlier, is that a back injury is just about the hardest injury to shrug off because it effects just about every part of your body as the body tries to compensate. If he's not 100% fit he could end up pulling a hamstring, tweaking his knee or anything.

As it bounces off his leg into the net hopefully!

Seeing as there are pockets of Eastwood abusers on here just now (of which I am trying not to agree with despite the awful disinterested performance he put in up at Preston), my question is this.

Has Freddy's ability to pick up 6 yard box goals dried up due to us not replacing the Goat? I'm currently watching my Destination championship DVD and Freddy's goals against Huddersfield, Forest & one of his hat-trick at Bristol City were all from goalmouth scrambles. Has he actually scored a goal like that this season?

Bournemouth too.

I believe the only goal he's scored all season from less than 12 yards out was the tap-in at Stoke. I think there's probably a lot of reasons for that, better defenders double-marking him every time he goes near the box being the main one. He used to take up a starting position outside of the box but still make his runs into the middle whereas now he just waits outside seemingly hoping for a knock-back. If he had a decent partner who offered a goal threat and who could play a decent flick-on to him occasionally he might be getting in there more. Goater was just about the perfect player for that.

Has anyone actually had a shot that would result in a goalmouth scramble yet?

;)

IMHO - and this is not a criticism - I think the main difference is not just the goalmouth scrambles but the lack of flick-on headers . The Goat used to send the ball in many directions , defenders weren't sure where it was going . Bradders on the other hand tends to win the ball and keep it if he has brought it under control or if not , nod it back to the midfield . Harry causes more disruption , but then I am not sure he has a clue where his headers are going to end up . Net result guessing game for Fred and very few run-ons for him with defenders back-tracking .

oh and of course the defenders are much better (and quicker) this season
