Does it really matter how he looks ? .Show a bit of respect guys as you wont get a more loyal bloke and a great servant to the Club .For those that never saw him play ,he was a very good Full Back as well .
Thanks for everything you have done for the Club and Supporters and youngsters Frankie ,have a Great Retirement .
 
I remember him as a player too! Happy days! This man is worthy of great respect. He has done a fantastic job for the club- and how many people do you meet these days who always have time for people as Frank does? Legend! Happy retirement Frank, you deserve it.
 
Is a second testamonial absolutely nessesary? I mean, it's a tax free benefit that ordinary Joe Soap dosn't get. If we get bonuses, it's taxed. I just think testamonials are a bit of a p!ss take. Rewarding once is bearable but twice is just rubbing peoples nose in it. Most footballers/people in football make a very good living anyway. If i remember rightly, Alan Shearer's Testamonial was donated entirely to charity. Unless Frankie is of course donating to Orphan Orangutans of Borneo????

Are you suggesting that community officer at Southend is a well paid job?
 
not saying that at all, some people who are in the lower leagues indeed do deserve the testimonial game but 2 games is questionable. I don't believe Monkey Man was being paid anywhere near the Alan Shearer levels for one minute but i'm still sure he made a reasonable living at SUFC otherwise he wouldnt have stuck with us for that long.

Oh right Steve - So its ok for you to go off with your mates from the cycling club and have a great time, then the snooker, then hot air balloning - Your not short of a bob or two are you?

Yet poor old Franky who has dedicated the last 40 years helping deprived children from the borough at the club gets nothing. You make me sick!!

How much money do you think a community support officer earns. I know he tops up his income with by working as a set advisor on "Planet of the Apes" but still - You are filth Steve.... :cry:

Sure, Franky has done a great job, but he has been rewarded already with 1 TAX FREE windfall. This is not a perk ordinary Joe Public gets, we get taxed on such perks. To get 2 windfalls is obscene!

Since Franky has retired there is probably a vacancy, I'm sure the club would welcome your application. As for the tax treatment, take that up with Darling.
 
I'm sure those questioning FB's having a second testimonial are joking. At least I hope so. It's a more than well deserved accolade and a game I'll make sure I attend.
