Frankie calls time - Todays Echo

Frankie has been part of the club forever! Enjoy your retirement, Frankie, and I hope the club put on some sort of benefit do for you.

A great man and a great ambassador for the club. Someone give him an MBE.

That's quite a good call, and something the club should be writing to the powers that be about, as you can nominate for honours now. Actually a nice cheque to the Labour party and who knows Lord Banks of Roots Hall could be in ermine.

Anyone can nominate for honours, it would carry more weight if lots of us fans wrote in as well as the club:

seems to be a good place to start.

He has ASU and I remember him playing.ekk....Definately deserves some form of recognition.

He is indeed a great man, I remember him showing me and my brothers around Roots Hall before a match one day years ago.

I wonder if Maher will be so keen to stay now Frankie has gone. With one less primate at the club he may decide its time to move on.

I cant believe this news, enjoy the time to yourself Frankie

He is a legend, I would say most off us on here have had a training session on 2 with him

Looks like The Echo took a picture of his waxwork at Madame Tussauds to me. Scivvys !!

Have a Happy Retirement Banksy. Grew up watching him as a player. Loyal player, diamond bloke. Will be sorely missed by the club.

Anyone remember WH Stone's in Leigh ? Didnt Banksy work in there briefly ?
