Breaking News Francis offer accepted

Didn't Plymouth try and sign him last season?

They are in League One too.

Sheffield Wednesday....
Considering I can remember when we played them in the Championship and he had an interview in the programe and was saying how much he wanted to beat them and about the rivalry he felt for them I'm not sure they would be his first choice but a good shout

Let's hope it's not one of these public 'undisclosed fees' transfers, because I'm sure that would annoy the masses.

This is the first step towards rebuilding the squad for the better of the club to be honest.

Oh bugger. Can't say I'm suprised though. Couldn't care less who he goes to as long as it's a decent fee.

Good Luck Mr Francis, thanks for your 4 seasons.

Money grabbing **** giving it all they loyalty bollocks earlier in the season

To be fair, it only says the CLUB has accepted an offer. Doesn't mean Francis wants to leave. At least he stayed in January and wanted to help keep us up. With our financial situation it's probably best for both parties that he leaves, he's too good for League Two anyway.

Wish him all the best. Loved watching him cross the ball glad he got player of the year before he left and glad he silenced the boo boys.

Just when I was thinking what a slow news day!
Of course he still has to agree terms and he is on good wages but if its one of the 'bigger' clubs (Soton, Sheff Weds, Hudds) theyd have no problem paying him what he wants Im sure.

Yet another POTS makes their way off to where the grass is greener.
Can't begrudge his move - esp as I'd imagine he has bills to play!
He would have been a great player in League 2...

Pretty sure it will be an undisclosed fee and a distinct lack of replacement. Please prove me wrong SUFC, I won't be able to bear a summer of this!

Good luck Franno, and thanks for the memories! (and mainly assists!)

Really hope we have someone planned to come in because if/when he does go that right back slot will be looking a bit empty....

:'(

What we have to remember is that it may not be SUFC that insist on an 'undisclosed' tag, the buying club might be the ones not willing to spill the beans.

As an aside, i also remember that in the dim and distant past a thread in which is was quoted that FA or football league rules state that the fee between clubs should officially be kept private. Not sure if it was this site or another one or if anyone can confirm it because i cant be bothered at the moment to go trawling through FA and Football league laws and rules....

Not always my favourite player but did have a half decent season in a very dodgy back line. Good luck to him, I for one don't expect players to sign for us and then never move on.

I can see some Mark Gower syndrome coming on.

Everyone moans about a player (inconsistant etc) they leave and we dont replace them or replace them with crap. Then everyone comes out and says original player was class act etc.

Either way no problems loosing him as cant keep unhappy players but lets replace him with a right back sooner rather than later please Tilly.

Not surprised, we offered him a 3 year deal, why would he want to waste his talent, with blatently what will be 3 years at league 2 level.
Should do fine in a team like southampton next season if they need him, good luck franno.

The only reason he stayed was that POSH weren't offering the money we are paying him.
