Question Francis Laurent

Was strapped up and stretchered off with what looked a serious injury. Terrible tackle that lead to it, and straight away he looked in serious pain on the floor, rolling, screaming etc.

It looked like a leg break at first.

Anyway, does anyone know anymore about it?

Ankle gave way following the hard tackle. Basically means he has stretched/ruptured the ankle ligaments. I'm guessing about 6 weeks out...

Looked a bad late tackle from where we were - can't believe that the Ref did not get out even a yellow card!

Probably a similar injury to the one he had last season, They way he immediately grabbed his ankle I thought he'd broken it but when he was put on the stretcher he seemed too comfortable to have broken it.

Disgraceful challenge, how the yellow card given to Heath was deemed a worse challenge than that I'll never know.

Poor guy - really unlucky. Seems like he was doing well pre-season and IIRC he was in good form last season when he had the broken foot. Get well soon, Frank...

Gutted that he was injured, when I saw the stretcher on the field, I immediately feared for the worst and thought it was a leg break. I really hope that it isnt a leg break, and its not too bad an injury, we cant afford players to be out in the current squad we have got.

A shame to see him go off injured like that. I was miles away from the incident but thought it was a quality, real mans challenge but of course I'm probably wrong on that one.

Also, in a slightly odd way I'm quite pleased. I hope this gives Walker his chance to get 4/5 games under his belt, he's got some good attributes, if he can add the obvious goalscoring to that he could be a quality player for us. However obviously, if he doesn't add the goalscoring then it won't work out.

I thought he started the game quite brightly aswell. Its a Shame for him

I thought Walker did brilliant today. He looked a completely different player from the one we saw last season/pre-season

All he needs now is the confidence to shoot

Agreed,

I thought he looked much stronger on the ball.

Hopefully he'll get a couple of goals and that'll get his confidence up.

He did look a lot stronger and did well to hold the ball up, aswell as making some decent runs. Also his control/trapping of the ball seemed to be much better.

Like you said, he just needs a few goals and his confidence will rocket

from where i was in the east stand (and being as unbiased as possible) it looked like the bloke went in hard but fair. looked a bad injury, but i dont think the ref was going to give anything until he saw laurent was injured.

I too thought he played the ball in a really solid challenge. (Although I think there weren't too many people around me in the West Stand who agreed with me!)

Looked a hard but fair tackle to be honest, but he did go clean through laurent. Moussa definitely won the tough tackle competition in the 2nd half!
