I've said we'll be runners up since the summer and I'm sticking with that, I think Swindon will win it and Cheltenham will come 3rd. Crawley will bomb out IMO.

A smidgen less confident today, compared with when the last post was made on this thread. It just goes to show how rapidly things change............the title of the thread should now surely read, six into three won't go. We know what Shrewsbury have to offer, although, personally, I feel that their away form will let them down. Torquay have crept into the reckoning with few people noticing and Swindon look unstoppable (until tomorrow night?). From all accounts they played well on Saturday and the 2-0 scoreline probably flattered Leicester. Just to show what a tough task we're up against this season, the much hated Crawley swept aside Championship side Hull City........and then there is the little matter of Cheltenham, who didn't exactly roll over and die............well, on Saturday at least.
Interesting also that Stevenage whose style of football, many on here predicted, would lead them straight back to League Two, sit prettily in sixth place in League One and face a trip to White Hart Lane in the Fifth Round of the Cup. Funny game, football!

Yeah it definitely looks like I overlooked a few teams. Shrewsbury and Torquay have definitely got themselves into contention now.

I think Crawley will be the team to slide, they are having a good cup run and will have games in hand and when it gets to the business end of the season. This could count against them as they will have less time to recover between games.

We have only the two games in hand (tomorrow and in three weeks). We only have to play three of the top teams to play and they are spread out. I'm confident that we have a squad with depth and barring any further major injury concerns we will be promoted automatically.

I still think its 3 from the top 3 + Swindon.

Torquay with their extra games played will have too much to do, Shrewsbury are the only other team viable but I think the other 3 are too good at moment to be caught.

I do think at present we have a lot to do ourselves. A defeat tomorrow night, which I think is a real possibility, will make things very nervy.
Sooner the other top 5 start playing each other and points get dropped the better.

Crawley
Home to Cheltenham Tues 7th Feb
Away Swindon Tues 14th
Away Shrews Monday 27th
Home Torquay March 3rd
Away SUFC March 5th

Swindon
Apart from us Swindon do not have to travel to any of the top 5 but they have the other 4 all at home

Cheltenham have to travel to Crawley
Then Swindon, Shrews and us in March all away

We have Swindon Crawley and Cheltenham at home

So if the away form against teams outside the top 6 is consistent , it all favours Swindon and us

i'd better get on the draw at Broadhall Way then :winking:

All talk about who has to play who is pretty irrelevant IMO as we're only a fraction over half way, so everyone has to play everyone else with the odd exception
