For those that sell on eBay

I'm in the middle of an ongoing dispute with Pay Pal and Ebay. Basically I sold my old Nokia E65 and two bidders went above the buy it now price. The winning buyer twice got in contact with me through her email account with a postal address and the goods were shipped. Turns out she wasn't the buyer at all but that her account had been hacked and her credit card had been used fraudulently. A dispute was lodged by the real email account owner and her card was reimbursed with the full amount. I sent proof of postage with insurance, copies of the emails sent to me and those I sent to her but Pay Pal now say I owe THEM £105.00 and that in effect the phone was stolen off of ME. Well I aint paying. Simple as that. She's got her money back from her credit card company so she's not out of pocket and Pay Pal have lost no money whatsoever so as far as I'm concerned I owe them diddly squat. I've cancelled my Pay Pal and Ebay accounts but I'm still a little worried as they still have my card details on file so may take the money anyway.
This is going to run and run so I may dig this thread up at a later date and give an update as to the outcome.

So how on earth do you have 100% cos you sure as hell won't get 100% on Shrimperzone

It's only what I keep trying to tell you all, I'm helpful and considerate, thoughtful and honest......keep the buyers informed, package things well and don't overcharge. I can't help being misunderstood on here! :whistling:

What's your usename on ebay Kay, I'll take a look at your wares!!

I have 100% pos as well by the way.

Yep, and I have 100% on there! Had three occasions when I've had to go through a Paypal dispute, first was a DVD which was subtitled although it didn't say so in the listing; second was done on Paypal's instructions due to a **** up by the seller and the third was that fake Ipod some of you may remember from last year. Never had any problem as a seller, maybe I've just been lucky - although to be fair, haven't sold anything on there for a few months so if it's changed then maybe I'm just yet to encounter problems!
my god i bet you'd ****ing moan if someone left you a negative !! :)

so do you get people banned from Ebay as well do you?

I find these days the general gist with ebay is that if it's priced too good to be true it's a fake. However, it bloody annoyed me that I sold something I knew was legit, they paid ony £20 for it, then decided they didn't want it so every time I countered them they had a new line then went for the "item not as described" line. Lo and behold, they win. eBay just ain't the same any more, I remember the days of yonder when some nice bloke from Stratchclyde would email you about that Twin Peaks video you bought and tell you all about how he couldn't be bothered to send it and he'd do it once he was done getting nagged by the wife and you both laugh about it. Now people expect you to be quicker than Amazon and almost expect to see their items delivered from the backside of a 16 year old virgin.

a) it wasn't me....
b) not many of them in Strathclyde ;)

I have been screwed over by a buyer very similarly, and Paypal refunded the buyer. Thankfully I got my item back, but I had to pay the guy to send it.

I sold all of my Gamecube games when I left Uni, and on all of the listings, I put (correctly), that they were playable with a controller that I was not selling.

He complained that it didn't work, and I really tried to help and it turned out that he just didn't have a GC controller!! ****

Oh I know your pain. It's the fact that PayPal just don't care, doesn't matter what the case is. They'll just side and be complete tossbags.

Should your village not be clubbing together for a new generator though?

Its the wife's fault, when she plugs in her rabbit to the mains everyone's lights in the village dim.

I am currently having issues with a product that I purchased last week from an e-bay shop. It is a basic 2 man pop up tent for about £20 and seller said that he dispatched it on Thursday via Citylink. Nothing arrived Friday so i called the chap and he said that Citylink could not find my house!!!! They have the post code (which a Sat Nav would take them to door with) and as far as i am aware there is only one place called Strichen in the UK.

As it had still not arrived yesterday I contacted the seller again informing them of this and they again told me that City Link had tried to deliver but could not find my house.

The seller then asked me to contact Citylink, I informed them that I had paid them for the gods my contract was with them and not Citylink, therefore they can chase Citylink. I am a buyer for a living and have been for many years so know my way around what is my responsibility and what is the sellers in any environment.

I should have just gone down to Craigdon Mountain Sports paid a bit extra and brought it from them.

caveat emptor. I was involved in an ebay market research group a few years back. It is frustrating to see revenge feedback, which is why giving feedback for buyers was removed. I sell most of my stuff on Amazon now.
