THE ROCK GOD
As you have said so in capitals, it must be true
To be fair he's got a point, this is the tip of the iceberg.
As you have said so in capitals, it must be true
Interesting article here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51873519 especially the part about going into administration beneficially. S'all a bit of a minefield but there's a lot of clubs out there that'll be in the same boat as SUFC in varying degrees that this might, just might, actually help.
The part I’m finding most interesting in all of this now is
The players have been paid. He would not of paid the players had he NOT had the money to pay HMRC first.
As paying the players also makes more tax liabilities to be paid.
By whom?
No, and if the season is scrapped what about Bury who were listed at the start? Could they claim FL place back?
So many ifs
It has earlier been mentioned that the players were paid yesterday? CP could just phone a couple and confirm? Was hoping that someone from the ITK team could confirm either way? Not an unimportant matter?
This may or may not be controversial, but IMO having a 3 week break now might actually be pretty sensible.
The incubation period for this virus is 4-5 days, and most people (certainly young, fit footballers) will be over it in a week. So that's about 1.5 weeks. Add double that for contingency and that's your 3 weeks. At that point almost all the players will have either had it and recovered, or won't have had it at all. (Yes, I know they could catch something from the wider population if they don't self isolate, but a bit of common sense would minimise that risk too.)
If at that stage there are still issues in the rest of the country (which is almost 100% certain) then play the matches behind closed doors. If the odd player is ill at that point, then so be it. Squads often have to self isolate when one or two come down with colds or the flu and this would be no different.
