Oldham fan here….

We have (thankfully) secured our spot in the play-offs at the weekend - due to the fact you and Gateshead play each other and therefore cannot both catch-us.

We have the luxury of now focusing on where we finish (hoping for a home tie) and who we might play…..

As it stands that would be either you or Gateshead that occupy the last spot and have a do or die last match of the season.

Risk is always (IMO) that the team that snatches 7th with last day heroics goes into that first game buoyed and with momentum.

I agree and I posted a while back some quotes from their manager talking about players being out injured and how they weren't playing with identity etc. They lost to Maidenhead recently and plenty of their fans were saying Halifax didn't have a shot on target and set up not to lose. The manager also said after that game that lots of sides are going direct and they were struggling with it. Braintree certainly do that with Akinde, so more of the same please lads.

If you're on a bad run and struggling to score, it's hard to suddenly win two games on the bounce, irrespective of the opposition. They are in massive free fall.

I think we’d fancy our chances with whoever we got tbh. You’s have had a rocky patch since the start of the year, and we’re very Jekyll and Hyde, so would be a coin flip game.

We’ve had some close encounters since you’ve been down in this league too, and our H2H stats marginally better (W3 D2 L1)
