And Chris is how old ?

However, a great performance from Flavs and the team , both strikers getting on the scoresheet could well see the confidence pick up and be the start of another winning run.

Seriously, are there really dissers of Daryl? I can't believe it.
Last season, he must have been the best keeper in League two and now must be league 1s best keeper.
Best I have ever seen at the hall, although I did like Sammy.

Thats going a bit overboard surely? Flavs is a decent keeper for this level and is the best we've had since Royce left (not hard) but to put him in the same bracket as Sammy and Roycey indicates to me that time has led to some supporters forgetting just how good Roycey and Sammy actually were.

Chris Phillips may have said it was the best goalkeeping performance he's seen from a Southend keeper (and I'm not disputing that at all) but he obviously never saw Royce at West Ham in the FA Cup, at Palace away in the League Cup and against Derby at home in the league the season he won PotY.

his shot stopping is one of the best, if not the best in the league, but he has fall backs that mean he is not one of the best keepers in the league. he is of a good standard and there are plenty worse than him, but he cant go any higher than league one. with that said, yesterday he was class and had as good a performance as ive seen from a keeper. however, to be up there with roycey and sammy he has to play close to that standard week in and week out, which unfortunately he wont do. but yesterday he was awesome and i tip my imaginary hat to him and am very grateful as without him we would have been screwed.

NB
ive always said i prefer flavs to the bartman and i stand by that but he has quite a way to go before he's challenging roycey and sammy

I feel that the general concensus on the site is, and has been for a while, that Daryl is the best keeper since Royce (Woody or Margetson second ?) and the highlighting of his faults is generally as a response to wholesale blanket criticisms of Bart (Who I feel is not as good as Daryl but not by enough to flame the guy eveytime he steps out on the pitch).
That said being the Best since Royce is not the accolade it may seem considering the competition, Fat Nev, Prudhoe, Capleton, Danny Gay etc

In my own keepers list, he is behind Sammy, Royce, Cawston, Stannard, Webster, Burridge, Bellotti, Freeman.

Still sounded like a blinding performance yesterday though.
