I agree,

The players at home must be in total fear of playing,Brown and Penney must drill into them don't concede at all costs then the fans slag the lads off..These guys need to be unleashed and entertain us with a brand of sparkling play resulting in either 3 0 or 3 1 win if Phil goes 442.

its the home atmosphere they are scared of rather than the manager! they know that any mistake will be greeted with people shouting abuse at them. if the fans get behind the team and create a positive atmosphere, drowning out the negativity (even if there are mistakes being made and it isnt going to plan as thats when the crowd are needed the most) then the players will feel like a weight has been lifted from their shoulders and play accordingly.

Many a team has been promoted in 2nd or 3rd place by duffing up the bottom 2/3's of the league

the football this season at home has been truly terrible. I'm amazed we still get 5-6000. I go every week but I've stopped looking forward to it. I've known in my time roots hall to be a fantastic home atmosphere, but the last few years have been terrible here. The players and manager would soon lift the crowd if they put on some bloody entertainment. Six hours without a goal. Thats your issue.

Someone has to break the cycle though at some point. Generally you can see the players are trying to do it, having more possession, shots, attacking play etc, but the fans need to give it a better go too. There is no point giving excuses, something needs to change as the fans and players are dragging each other down, and that can only be a bad thing.

So we're basically Everton under Moyes. Organised, professional, do a good job at taking points off the lesser sides in the league, but often come up short against the very best sides. Need to go to Shrewsbury and win then! My concern with this would be that IRRESPECTIVE of recent results, those two are not the best pairing at centre half - PB should be brave, accept Shrewsbury are going to be more of a test, and make a change.

"Six hours without a goal." at home from either side! With travel included that's cost me £110 to see one penalty scored. Not really great value for money, is it?

But thats the old argument, if you want guaranteed value for money then SUFC may not deliver that very often, it has indeed been poop at the hall lately but thats often been the case for over a hundred years. Although elvis eel slipping over in front of the south was worth the entrance fee alone
