Fixtures

So, folks, anyone got any bright ideas as to how we can persuade our loved ones that what they really want to do, more than anything...

...is spend Valentine's Day on the away terrace at Griffin Park...

oops.gif

Some phrases that might work Matt,

"If you love me you'll let me go"

"I don't believe in it, it's just a way for card companies to make more money"

"Because I love you so much, I want you to have your own special day, like the 15th of February"

"You're dumped"

Ooh that's harsh, didn't notice it on first read of the fixtures.

Perhaps I shall have to ensure I have an 'argument' with the girlfriend at some point during the day, therefore giving me an excuse to go out....!

Just a bit narked that all the trips to the North West are so closely bunched together... Blackpool, Oldham and Tranmere all next January. Bit rubbish, that.

Surely a change to the fixture list they will make.

Great to see that we are playing Rotherham away on 24th Sept, as I am going away the week b4 but do not get back till late on the 24th, so I am missing this game

I'm sure last season a Palace fan (

) took his girlfriend to the Arsenal match for Valentines day. They had an interview with him on Sky Sports News. Now Griffin Park isn't as glamourous as Highbury, but if she loves you she will go with you.

If she is a jinx, don't take her at any costs

That didn't go un-noticed by me either Matt. Brentford away was one of my 'must do' games, due to it's proximity and there being so many great pubs in the surrounding area.

Sod it. I'll offer to buy her drinks all evening and get her a meat pie at half-time. W4 Shrimperette will be well up for that.

Yeah, but W4 Shrimperette is known to (a) go to watch Southend; and (b) enjoy watching Southend play on a fairly frequent basis.

Alas, my missus loathes football with a passion...

Don't mention that to my brother. He's missing Forest away because he's best man at his brother-in-law's wedding... and guess when the stag do is?

rock.gif

Yep, Bristol City away.

Needless to say, he's a bit Grim Down South at the moment (geographically speaking).

If you want to catch up whilst you're up here at all, give me a shout! Did you know your man to watch Alan Gow's signed for Falkirk & so will be a SPL player this coming season?

Not surprised, although I still think that "Oor Wullie", aka Willie McLaren, is the man to go for. The boy has got talent... if you're looking for a speedy winger who can hurt a side, he's your man.

I'd love it if someone at Roots Hall agreed...

Gow should be an interesting one to watch. No pace on him, but a really Sheringham-type player. He should do fairly well in the SPL, I reckon.

As for catching up - depends what our movements are, to be honest; but sounds good in theory. I'll let you know!

I dunno... I'm sure I've seen her celebrating just as wildly as us lot, on occasion. The Canvey game in the Sports Cafe leaps to mind, for starters...
