Multiple hat tricks (as alluded to by DoDtS ^^^) are a real rarity but i was lucky enough to see Angell get 4 and Tilson 3 against Aldershot (even though we've never beaten them )

It wasn't all that rare that season as I think Wright and Bright had it done it earlier against us.

Plenty against us (two in the same season by Brentford's Lloyd Owusu included) but I'm fairly sure I didn't see a Southend hat-trick in person until about ten years ago when Leon Cort bagged three against Boston.

Hi everybody, I've lurked on here for a long time and enjoy reading the banter that goes on but I'm mostly too busy to get involved with posting. On this occasion though I could remember that my first hat trick was by Bud Houghton but couldn't recall who it was against. Having checked on the SUFC database website I have discovered that it was against Accrington in 1959. As a 9year old at the time Bud became my hero for a while along with Sam McCrory. I also remember most of those mentioned by DoDtS in the 1960's, especially the cup atch against Brentwood.

Does this make me older than Cricko?

Welcome to the board mate, and hopefully this post will inspire you to write a few more.

And for the record, nobody is older than Cricko.
