Despite doing my first game in approx 87 and say doing about half the games every season I think my first ever Southend Hatrick was Julian Hales vs Leicester About 1996.

I'm sure your dad will know about him Dave! Scored 23 goals in season 75/76 which was a relegation year. THAT match against Brighton followed on from the Valentine Day travesty at Derby (from SUFC database - although there doesn't seem to be much info about Silvo). He went from us to the States

My first hat trick would've been Derrick Parker as he scored all the goals in a 4-0 romp vs Torquay in September 1977 .. i'm sure it would've pleased my old man as that was his birthday
 
Not the first..but the most memorable.
Richard Cadette on his debut against the club we signed him from..Leyton Orient on 23rd August 1985. The "black flash" scored four in a 5-1 win under Bobby Moore.
I worked at the club and our glorious Shrimpers were a very troubled business and 5-1 wins did not come along often..still don't. On the Monday after, Richard Caddette was held up on his way into training, he phoned in and I answered..he was rather humble "hello, my name is Richard Cadette and I am a player"..jeeeez - the guy had scored four goals on his debut and was the talk of the division!!! Lovely guy and while with us - a very exciting striker.
 
Cadette was a genius, like Freddy and Stan after him when he got the ball you sat up in your seat craned your neck if standing as nearly everytime he got the ball he'd do something amazing

Much like Freddy he never really hit the heights after leaving, the Roots Hall grass really is greener you see :winking:
