Films you've watched recently.

The Mule - Very good film, I know he is old but Jesus he looked really old in this. Like the storyline and a really enjoyable film, recommend it.

Saw The United states v billie holiday earlier.Excellent film.Suprised it didn't get any Bafta buzz yesterday.Don't think it was even nominated in any category. So much better than that awful Dianna Ross biopic on Billie Holiday back in the day.

Saw Minari earlier.Fully deserved it's one Oscar - for best supporting actress IIRC and half a dozen nominations.About a South Korean family trying to make it on a farm in Arkansas. Well worth watching.

Watched the film ‘Us’ on Netflix.

Interesting film, from Jordan Peele (same guy who directed Get Out). Personally I thought Get Out was a better film, but still quite thought provoking and very different from other horror genre films I’ve seen. Won’t give anything away, but good twist at the end.

7/10
I watched it, wasn't sure about it but for some reason couldn't stop thinking about it. I saw a couple of youtube videos on theories and explanations of the film and there were a few things I totally missed. I actually think it is brilliant now

Bones Brigade: An Autobiography
Fascinating docu-film about the Bones Brigade Skate team, I’m not a skateboarder, but my brother was a sponsored rider and it sparked my interest; very interesting interviews with Perelta, Hawk, Mullen, Cabellero, Gurerro, Mountain, McGill... cool film and great footage.

Worth a watch even if you don’t have any interest in skateboarding

Lewis?

Watched The Godfather 1 and 2 again this week. Absolutely amazing film Godfather 1. a true classic. Godfather 2 is very good. Godfather 3, I don't bother, as not a patch on the other 2, and especially spoilt by the far fetched helicopter take out plot. Not in keeping with the Mafia realism of 1 and 2.
These are the only 2 films I can watch over and over every few years. Normally, once I've seen a film, that's it.

Agreed Couldn't even be bothered to see the recent director's cut version of Godfather 3.on recent cinema release.

Saw La Boda de Rosa (Rosa's wedding ) by Iciar Bollain again earlier.Delicious feminist, black comedy which really should have cleaned up at the Spanish Goyas (Baftas/Oscars equivalent) earlier this year,Think it only won one award .Well worth watching when it eventually gets a UK release.

Saw Martin Scorsese's Rolling Thunder Revue:A Bob Dylan Story last night. Not normally a Netflix fan but this was so much better than 1978's Ronaldo and Clara.
