Films you've watched recently.

Yeah, Oates is fantastic and it's his best performance for me. I always tend to lean towards more leftfield/offbeat things, hence why I prefer ...Alfredo Garcia to the more commercial Wild Bunch.

I imagine you've seen him in Monte Hellman's Two Lane Blacktop with James Taylor and Dennis Wilson? He was superb in that.

Saw Tony Richardson's The Entertainer again last night.Saw Alfred Marks in the Archie Rice role at the Palace theatre back in the day and also Kenneth Brannagh's revival more recently .Oliver's performance stands out though.

Bad Boys For Life - Loved it and they’ve left it open for another one and I’ve read they’re going to do!

Aha, thought I was missing something ?.. good to hear it’s a decent watch, you never know with these sequels (see later Die Hard films).

I take a lot of them with a pinch of salt like the Fast and Furious franchise. I watch it just because it’s a bit of fun.

The new bad boys was really enjoyable though a good blend of humour and violence.

Saw the Bill Douglas Triology again last night. One of the most moving and poetic childhood memoirs in British cinema. The DVD extras include a a film school short "Come Dancing" clearly shot on Southend pier.
