Films you've watched recently.

Troop Zero - a bunch of outsider kids become "scouts" to win a prize at the yearly Jamboree. One for tweenagers, occasional bit of mild swearing & smoking (it's set in the 70s), but great fun. 8/10

Another vote for The Gentleman.Stylish gangster film.Liked it more than Lock,Stock etc I think.

Felt sorry for the couple of white-haired ladies, a few rows in front of me, who walked out after an hour or so.Presumably expecting some sort of Hugh Grant rom-com.

Saw Get Carter again yesterday.IMO the best British gangster film in the last 50 years or so.Only rivalled by The Long Good Friday.
you”re a big man but you”re out of shape, to me it’s a full time job.

classic
TLGF is also excellent ( not good, excellent), as is the main music.

both have “ similar “ endings , never really though if that before

That's a wonderful line from GC.Not sure I'd agree about the "similar" endings but I get what yon mean.

Uncut Gems - Very odd seeing Sandler in a more serious role. Lots of his usual raised voices etc. It wasn’t a bad film, the ending surprised me but quite an enjoyable watch.

Saw Performance again last night. While I'd agree with Mad Cyril that it's a great film. for me it's half a gangster film and half a counter-culture film (for want of a better term).
