Pretty self explanatory really, i can only think that Scotty has killed Sturrocks cat or something, I'm not saying by any stretch that he is a world beater but he is by far our most natural goalscorer and the one who offers us something different.

He must play end of..

Have been saying this for the past few weeks, as have others, unfortunately PS does not seem prepared to give him a chance.
Especially today at home, the game was crying out for something different.
I would be very interested to hear PS's answer as to why Spencer and Paterson appear to be left out in the cold?

Yep, at 2-2, I would have thrown on Spencer and Soare on (stick Spencer up front and Soare on the right wing) to try and push on for the win, instead, Morecambe thrown on a sub and he score the winner!

I wouldn't pin all your hopes on Spencer just yet. He looked miles off the pace (and quite frankly out of his depth) against Luton's reserves the other week. Not sure if it's a fitness thing, or he's simply not good enough.

One thing's for sure, Corr and Sturrock up top just doesn't work for me.

Like most strikers, he needs games and confidence.
I too think he has a lot to learn, and is not going to be the single answer to all our problems, but surely Spencer & Paterson who have come from a higher level and are both still young and keen must have something to offer a strike force that is so sorely lacking?

I can only call it as I see it :)

I do agree though, we need a change up top. Is Spencer (or Paterson) the answer? maybe, but I won't put all my hopes on them.

The most annoying thing about today, is that a decent strike partnership would have carved through Morecombe like a knife through butter.

Quite.

Today's result wouldn't have been salvaged by Scott Spencer.

Be fair, I don't think that is quite what some of us are saying is it?

I think most would agree that there are undoubtedly problems at the back, but I find it hard to believe that against Northampton and Morecambe again today with a more natural 'striker' - such as a Spencer or Paterson or Crawford played up alonsgide Corr or Sturrock then we would have put both these games beyond doubt anyway?

that exactly wat i been saying hes not the best player in the world but definatly are best striker naturaly play him

Spencer playing off of either Sturrock or Corr has been the best choice as far as I'm concerned since the start of the season. I'd love to know why he only seems to get cameo appearances.

Hopefully someone will ask him this at the Q and A session. I would myself, but will be abroad for 2 weeks so not able to attend.

Why are we pondering the strike force when we have just let in 3 goals at home by the bottom side. 2 at home should be enough to win any game

Being honest, I thought Morecombe were crap at the back, but we were equally crap up top. A better strikeforce and we could have bagged 4 or 5 today

You'd obviously left before he came on.

In the 4 minutes he was on he touched it three times and lost it each time. He also managed to needlessly get caught offside.

No i hadn't and unlike some i have never once left a game before the final whistle in 33 years of support, anyway back to the point in hand i fully agree that he did nothing in the 4 minutes he was on the pitch, you cannot bring on a striker and expect him to turn the game around in such a short period of time.

Like i said (copyright ST) he is no world beater but i feel he is the one striker we have that will score goals and create problems in oppositions backlines by at least harrying and chasing, he did pretty well in the league above at the backend of last season against much better defences than any we've witnessed so far this season, he needs to start and be given a run in the team ala Sturrock, he surely cannot do any worse and if he does then rightly plonk him back on the bench, however the key point here is 'a run of games from the start'.

We'd have needed four goals to win yesterday. Five or six to put the game "beyond doubt". Has Spencer scored that many in his career? If we'd lost 1-0 then I'd see your point.
