Question February fixtures: How many points?

We need to average 2 PPG for a realistic tilt at the playoffs, so 10 points needs to be the minimum in Feb.

15 would put us right into the mix though.

8 or 9 wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Altrincham are the team we need to run down & they have three difficult away games in Feb, Oldham, Gateshead and Hartlepool.

Also, as much as I admire how Altrincham play, that style at our level does come unstuck. Injuries, size of squad and just the players being NL players and going through bad patches always happens. We also have to play then too.

What worries me about these 2 games though is that both clubs are well above us currently in the NL.

We’ve taken 12 of our 39 points this season from teams currently above us in the table.

York, FGR, Oldham, Oldham, Solihull & of course Halifax, Rochdale.

Edit: one thing I will add, before coming to RH, Halifax play Ebbsfleet, Braintree and Tamworth. If they get (what would be an expected) 9 points, they’ll certainly be up for the game with us. Even if it is a Tuesday night.

They’re in for a very tough March. They play us, Barnet, York, Solihull & Rochdale. It’ll be make or break for them

Absolutely. I still think this is where the size of the club and infrastructure prevail. Rochdale, Halifax and us are able to have the better squad depth, in comparison to Altrincham. With so many games coming thick and fast, we really will start to see which team can cope.

100%, I think the Barnet game was a much needed wake up call both on and off the pitch. So nice to have options to play with and decent cover.

Whilst getting into the playoffs is the priortiy, I really do think we should take the cup seriously given the above.

Absolutely, but just gathering momentum is the priority. Whether that takes us into the playoffs, we don't know, but that momentum will be integral to be successful next season. Potential summer targets would see that we are a club on the up and that's a lot more attractive than a side languishing in the lower reaches.

Despite what some fans say, getting to the final of the trophy shows an upward trajectory of the club too. It's something potential signings look at and want to be part of. Just imagine we get there and take 15k. Players would want to have a taste of that.

Yes and we've got a rather poor record against teams above us in the table at Roots Hall as our last 2 defeats prove.Watch out for banana skins. :Winking:

10 points in Feb.

The good news is the DAZN pass is for 7 days so if you purchase the Halifax match on the day, it should cover you for the Altershot match 7 days later. Both matches for £10.
