Bowled them out for 115, and am now 249-0 - centuries for trainees at the top of the order will hopefully give them an XP pop. Will declare tonight and win tomorrow, with 3 days gate receipts.

Brought up the century in style

66.3 6 Al dulaimi to Sugden
Oh, Sugden hammers the ball from the hapless Al dulaimi and it goes right over the grandstand for an amazing six!!! What a player!
And that's a century for Sugden! Well played indeed Sir!

halfway there

Finished 370-0. I want to declare now, so do I set the total to 370, or do I need to set it to whatever lead I have?

Forgot I had a declaration set so we ended up,

End of Over 88 (8 runs). Southend United: 428-2, runrate=4.86
Trail by 124 runs. (BWB 552-2 dec)
Britz 22-0-102-0
Bartlett* 222 (261 balls)
Drury 20 (17 balls)

Last Wicket: Sugden b. Al dulaimi 148 (FOW: 395/2)

would have preferred to bat until 170 runs ahead and then bowled at them.

Just set it to 370.

My bowlers did as instructed, though didn't expect them to get to 135-3! Hot Rod and Mushy will return first thing tomorrow to hopefully polish things off.

Finished the day on 138 for 9 - bum - could have done with depriving them of a day's revenue. I wasn't expecting anywhere near that as a batting score. Still, key players rested for Friday and Sunday and found an unexpected trainee costing £1000. Together with last weeks YP that's two trainees in a week and six in total. I'll post them all up when I return from Holiday - someone will probably recommend I dispense with one of them.

Gonna give my 18yo all rounder trainee a run out on Sunday - first game in about 10 weeks - currently on 2x bowling, 1x batting 1x stamina. I guess I should be switching 1 of the bowling to 1 batting for the new trainee. I know PFL is weak but a one off friendly shouldn't be too harmful ?

Bernard Hastings - 18 yo, BT Rating=18,211
LH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, proficient batting form, superb bowling form, fresh
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: woeful
Bowling: strong Consistency: respectable
Fielding: proficient

I wouldn't play him. Although it's only a friendly, it's still valuable PFL he's losing, and at Fresh he won't do much anyway.

He looks a nice prospect though :)

Oppo ended the day on 376-4 after my Feeble/Feeble fill-in bowler took a wicket in the last over of the day. I lead by 134, so I've set all my bowlers to Attacking, and set a declaration figure of 200 if I get to bat. Still got draw written all over it, unless he collapses this morning.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB ended up 332 for 3, behind by just under 100. She's set her declaration target at 600, and all bowlers to Attacking or Very Attacking to try and force a win that way.

I'd give him a run out, on those nets he'll never be fully fit to play in the league anyway so it's worth playing him for form purposes. One of my players didn't play for a whole season and now won't shift off worthless form despite playing pretty much every match this season.

Updates haven't happened yet this morning, so you might all still have some PFL rises to take effect.

In fact, looking at it more closey, I think there could be a problem, as Evelyn is down at Lively PFL despite only keeping for about 80 overs yesterday. I would have thought that he would have finished the day at Invigorated at worst.

would be funny if your boys had to come out and bat to get like 1 run!

First ball of the day and the partnership is broken.

41.1 W Horrigan to Cornes
OUT, poor judgement this time, shocking in fact and Horrigan strikes! He swung that one in at him, and for some inexplicable reason Cornes shoulders arms. Plumb.
