FC - Week 4

MrB

Life President
All change for this week, Cooky, Suthers, Richie, Sandy & Lamo all rest so we'll be relying on Hot Rod, Mushy and Saj to tidy up as quickly as possible. My opponent has only 3 players above 20k BTR, one of whom is on low fitness. I'll be looking for a very rapid finish, a day and a half at most if poss.

Fortunately my next 4 games are all relatively easy so I should be able to get the team to optimal fitness for a tough OD game next week (and no doubt a tough cup game on the Sunday should I get through).

Current First XI fitness report:
4 x sublime
3 x energetic
2 x invigorated
2 x lively

Lamo is now on 4 nets so I don't expected him to be fit at all this season however Sandy has dropped to one so should be able to play most games.

My oppo have consistantly managed to get both QUALITY in Seam and Spin bowling over the past weeks. They also have a QUALITY top order with a RESPECTABLE middle order so even if i chucked my first eleven out - Lamb Bayliss Browne Titterton Philip Raven Phillips Stanton Tapp Jackman Guy - i would probably struggle to a draw at very best. So the likes of Hitchman, Akram, Tomlinson, Thompson, a few of my latest 17yo YP's and a couple of 1st teamers will play in a match which will hopefully last under 2 days. This can leave me to focus on this weeks OD oppo and then Sunday's cup match, where General Stars will look to get into the last 128 and will be my best cup run to date!

Kev

Have opted for donkey line up'this week - no chance of even a draw so saving fitness for OD. 57 BTR yp stars in a line up with just 2 from first team squad. If I score 40 over 2 innings I'll be amazed :D

I've changed my focus, remembered that I'm at home. Have now taken out my declaration target to see if i can get three days out of the game.

Though with my batting on a cracked pitch that's fairly unlikely anyway!

Evelyn plays, but will have a well-earned rest on Friday, Curle and Prasad will have to endure the bulk of the bowling, along with Brinkhuys, while Middleton, Des and Schoeman miss out today, but will all return on Friday. Today's oppo doesn't appear to be doing too badly PFL wise, whilst Friday's oppo are in all sorts of trouble.

Pork Piers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this sunny day.

Yes. Now watch Evelyn get out for single figures while we collapse to 120 all out !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIBS DIPPERS v Rival Schools

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloud day.

Hmmmm. Fun and games for the General Stars. Not. I sold two palyers this morning ( Eyles for £80K and Hallett for 1K ) and they were in my team to play today. Titterton has replaced one and Jackman the other!! FFS! I was saving these 2. Neither have been set to bowl, as of yet. Even more dissapointing news is that they are batting first so its going to be a long day in the field!

Feck feck feck!

Appears my oponent has picked a numpty team. Could be a long two days of batting for me!

End of Over 1 (Maiden). Gods of Chaos: 0-1, runrate=0.00
Mushtaq 1-1-0-1
Tench* 0 (0 balls)
Cornes 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Hollis b. Mushtaq 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Welcome to Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI CG for the match between Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI and Barn To Do It.

We can tell you that Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day.

0.6 W Daniels to Littlejohn
A great shot by Littlejohn, well at least by U11 standards. Daniels broke middle stump clean in half after the ball flicked the glove. That will hurt Littlejohn's hand and his pride.
0.5 . Daniels to Littlejohn
An airy waft brings Littlejohn no runs.
0.4 . Daniels to Littlejohn
Littlejohn is keeping a watchful eye on that sharpish delivery.
0.3 . Daniels to Littlejohn
Daniels with a probing ball just outside the off stump. Littlejohn could have easily nicked that one behind.
0.2 . Daniels to Littlejohn
Nipped back, advanced, stroked back down the pitch.
0.1 . Daniels to Littlejohn
Bit of extra pace there I think. Littlejohn leaves it alone.

Couldn't have asked for a better start, winning the toss and a maiden wicket to start.

IN which case change your orders tonight!

A second wicket this morning, this time for Ramsden, who I promoted to open as he is more attacking.

I've now got rid of my opposition's second and third best batsman. They still have a 50,000BTR batsman with a £19,000 wage, but if I can attack the other end and stop him farming the strike, I hopefully won't do too much damage to my bowlers' fitness.

Good start for my boys this morning, declaration figure set at 550 (should we get that far), after last weeks debacle.

End of Over 7 (11 runs, 1b). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 30-0, runrate=4.29
Rosefield 4-0-18-0
Ricketts* 11 (25 balls)
Evelyn 14 (19 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

No early wickets for Mrs BB

End of Over 7 (1 runs). Rival Schools: 26-0, runrate=3.71
Mohammed 4-0-5-0
Oshea* 16 (22 balls)
Talbot 9 (21 balls)

Nick is struggling....

End of Over 8 (Maiden). Cat-I'th-Well: 0-4, runrate=0.00
Storer 4-4-0-4
Solomon* 0 (24 balls)
Johnson 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Jeffery b. Storer 0 (FOW: 0/4)

A nice run-out sees my oppo at 43-1! :D Got one of the useful buggers out. In comes a bloke earning just £8,000 p/w!
