FC Match 8

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Baggys Slackers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We're away to the side in 5th who we lead by 21 points (we're 3rd). Had to rest a few, as PFL isn't what we would like. Good toss to win, seeing as we haven't got a lot of batting, and what batting we had has just got out....

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this sunny day.

3.1 W Wilde to Evelyn
Controversy here as Evelyn refuses to walk. Snicko is inconclusive, but Evelyn clearly felt there was no edge. Eventually he trudges disconsolately back to the pavilion, but the Match Referee may have something to say about that little episode.

End of Over 3 (Maiden). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 3-0, runrate=1.00
Overs left today: 107
Haines 2-2-0-0
Evelyn* 1 (9 balls)
Downing 1 (9 balls)

DIBS DIPPERS v Bowled a Maiden Over

Top of the table clash for Mrs BB, but her oppo looks to have thrown it, so she could take a big step towards promotion this week, as she already leads them by 29 points.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 4 (1 runs). Bowled a Maiden Over: 7-0, runrate=1.75
Overs left today: 106
Mohammed 2-0-4-0
Dliza* 5 (10 balls)
Gurusinha 2 (14 balls)

Struggling to get next wicket out

Welcome to The Cranbrook Arena for the match between Napster's XI and Phil's Sloggers.

We can tell you that Napster's XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

30.2 . Atherton to Germon
Straight bat, defensive stroke, point quick to field.
30.1 . Atherton to Germon
Forward defensive from Germon.

Last Wicket: Gillman b. Hoult 22 (FOW: 40/4)

We'll be lucky to make 100 from here....

Won a toss for once! Made a lightning start but these guys are now settling in and I've somehow selected my reserve wicket keeper Martin as 5th bowler.

End of Over 34 (3 runs). White Lodge Wizards: 79-4, runrate=2.32
Overs left today: 76
Martin 1-0-3-0
Hoyte* 32 (70 balls)

Big Phil strikes in timely fashion before lunch.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 35 (8 runs). White Lodge Wizards: 87-5, runrate=2.49
Overs left today: 75
Schofield 9-2-20-3
Sugden* 1 (1 balls)
Hoyte 33 (71 balls)

Last Wicket: Philpott c. Marriott b. Schofield 33 (FOW: 86/5)

34.6 1 Schofield to Sugden
Driven firmly, Schofield gets a hand to it and it deflects onto the stumps at the non-striker's end. Loud appeal, but not out and the batsmen scramble a single from the ricochet.
34.5 W Schofield to Philpott
What a catch, that was a genuine stroke. Fantastic anticipation by Marriott at short leg.

This fella has somehow scored 90 runs on a dusty pitch, cloudy and overcast condition against the likes of Guy and Waters. Thats all im saying on the matter!

Stephen Winner (327288) Stephen is a LH Batsman and LF Bowler. He is a defensive player with abysmal leadership skills and elite experience.

He currently has superb batting form, strong bowling form and sublime fitness.

Age: 31 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 36,178
Wages: £6,604 p/w

Just got in from work (11pm) to see my title decider going fantastically. Bowled their first team out for 64 (wickets shared around) and I'm currently 49-2. Hoping for batting points but only a 9 point defecit to overhaul and should win remaining games especially if I don't hit 2020 too seriously and no major OD issues to recover PFL.

Woohoo ! A double promotion beckons. Pretty sure 301K is a record. And now 55-2 at tea :D

You're not alone Kev, having taken out the top order, their lower order managed to more than double the run total. Especially frustrating was the No. 10 with an average of 0.75 contributing to a partnership of 60 for the 10th wicket. We have not been particularly exciting in reply but no wickets down.

End of Over 8 (1 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 8-0, runrate=1.00
Trail by 201 runs. (White Lodge Wizards 209-10)
Overs left today: 33
Leacock 4-2-3-0

I would guess the Elite Xp has something to do with that....

Getting hammered, but with my top 3 bowlers, and 4 of my top 5 bats not playing, it's hardly surprising...

You're not alone Kev, having taken out the top order, their lower order managed to more than double the run total.

I share your frustrations. I had the oppos 9 wickets down for 8 runs before the last wicket put on 17 to get to 25 all out.

End of Over 68 (4 runs). The Flying Scotsmen: 378-0, runrate=5.56
Lead by 353 runs. (Salmonella CCC 25-10)
Overs left today: 16
Haines 16-0-92-0
Tapp* 175 (189 balls)
Dunstan 187 (223 balls)

181-5 117 ahead. Certainly have the upper hand but nothing taken for granted in this game. Want to see 250+ and still got the allrounder to come in next.

Rested my top two bowlers and look what happens

End of Over 5 (1 runs). Napster's XI: 16-0, runrate=3.20
Trail by 345 runs. (Phil's Sloggers 361-6 dec)
Overs left today: 8
Maymann 3-1-2-0
Perry* 7 (21 balls)
Jefferson 9 (9 balls)

Getting hammered so have decided to cut my losses, so the 2 1st team bowlers that are playing will not bowl again, and we'll just take the loss.

End of Over 61 (7 runs). Baggys Slackers: 218-3, runrate=3.57
Lead by 128 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 90-10)
Glasby 18-2-50-1

Bevan 51 (80 balls)

Last Wicket: Shoeshoe c. Ricketts b. Begg 20 (FOW: 202/3)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB leads by 260, she doesn't need the full points, so is going to declare overnight.

End of Over 84 (5 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 290-7, runrate=3.45
Lead by 258 runs. (Bowled a Maiden Over 32-10)
Baba 25-4-97-3
Morgan* 62 (124 balls)
Mackey 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Mohammed b. Baba 5 (FOW: 290/7)

Richie and Sandy put on 120 to take us to 152. Hoping we can now fly onto 360 in the sunny conditions.

Not the pace I was hoping for but ton and half tons up for Richie and Sandy respectively. On target to have about 50 overs at them today, be nice to get it done in two days.

End of Over 49 (5 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 179-2, runrate=3.65
Trail by 30 runs. (White Lodge Wizards 209-10)
Overs left today: 102
Cowling 7-0-28-0
Cunningham* 102 (133 balls)
Sandile 57 (96 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey Run Out 7 (FOW: 32/2)

Tough game!! This win puts me at 8-0 in FC level XI and will put me 39 points ahead of second place (who I play next) with two games to go.

And that's the end of the match. The Flying Scotsmen won by an innings and 381 runs.

End of Over 20 (Maiden). Salmonella CCC: 17-10, runrate=0.85 (1st Inn: 25-10)
Trail by 381 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 423-0 dec)
Overs left today: 100
Padmakumara 0-0-0-1
Holt* 2 (10 balls)

Two quick wickets and suddenly 360 seems a long way off! At least we're past their score.

End of Over 56 (2 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 211-4, runrate=3.77
Lead by 2 runs. (White Lodge Wizards 209-10)

Awan 2 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Sugden b. Leacock 73 (FOW: 209/4)

Slowed down but we're adding runs. Unlikely to keep it to two days now but at least we're picking up some batting points.

The players are off the field for lunch.
