Couldn't really have asked much more this morning, shocked!! They're holding out in the 2nd but not really scoring any runs.

Probably my tightest FC match yet. I'm 8 runs behind after the first innings. The rest of the day is crucial and hopefully i can give myself a good lead before declaring tomorrow at some point. A draw isn't enough and I'm going to have to make sure I have enough time to bowl them out. Equally they'll be hoping to bowl me out cheaply enough that they can chase down the runs tomorrow. It's all to play for.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 91 (1 runs). Boaties XI: 301-10, runrate=3.31
Lead by 8 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 293-10)
Overs left today: 52
Padmakumara 19-2-80-1
Purcell* 151 (192 balls)

End of Over 99 (1 runs). General Stars: 316-2, runrate=3.19
Lead by 142 runs. (Inter Lancs 174-10)
Overs left today: 51
Womack 19-3-49-0
Sookram* 144 (218 balls)
Browne 87 (227 balls)

Last Wicket: Deane b. Tonge 53 (FOW: 88/2)

Advantage - Me!! Set my declaration for 400 so they should get 30 overs this afternoon and hopefully can eek a couple out.

Not quite as explosive as the first innings but we're looking good for a 2 day win.

End of Over 40 (Maiden). Cricket is for girls: 74-3, runrate=1.85 (1st Inn: 30-10)

Groves* 24 (46 balls)
Shaka 35 (122 balls)

Last Wicket: Lucky lbw b. Digana 3 (FOW: 30/3)

An easy win against a bot for me, finished in a day and 25 overs.

We have another bot next week, with the worst human side after that before we play Tioman Islanders in the title decider on the last day.

The players are off the field for tea.

Wright 148 (214 balls)
Last Wicket: Marcel c. Williamson b. Foy 108 (FOW: 224/2)

Going exactly as expected. Might have to set the batters to bowl tomorrow, just to make sure we don't accidentally bowl them out;)

Innings and 197 run win which pretty much hands us promotion with a match against the bottom team still to come.

Cricket is for girls ShrimperZone CC
Top Order: wonderful wonderful
Middle Order: exquisite sensational
Lower Order: abysmal competent
Seam Bowling: exquisite elite
Spin Bowling: masterful exquisite
Fielding: mediocre competent

Have put myself into a good position. I now need to work out when to declare to give myself enough time to bowl them out. As previously said, anything less than a draw will see me relegated. A win means there is still a reasonable chance of survival.

End of Over 52 (6 runs). The Flying Scotsmen: 234-2, runrate=4.50 (1st Inn: 293-10)
Lead by 226 runs. (Boaties XI 301-10)

Cahalane* 59 (73 balls)
Rowson 4 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Tapp st. Purcell b. Mir 104 (FOW: 227/2)

Days work slightly spoiled as they take advantage of the sun and close on 70-0 so need to make inroads tomorrow and once they go past the 400 mark, i need to allow myself time to chase the runs needed, if i manage to get that far!

Kev

So here we are. My stint in FC VIII could all come down to this days cricket. I've declared 321 ahead and whilst it took slightly longer to get to my total, I have 87 overs to bowl them out, whilst they will also be going for the win looking at a manageable 3.68 runs an over. All 4 results are possible - here we go!

End of Over 1 (1 runs). Boaties XI: 1-0, runrate=1.00 (1st Inn: 301-10)
Trail by 320 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 293-10 & 329-3 dec)
Overs left today: 87
Woodhall 1-0-1-0
Bayley* 1 (5 balls)
Boardman 0 (1 balls)

A good start. They need 4.2 an over to win with me needing to take 7 wickets in 63 overs. They only problem is I am yet to get one of their batsmen out in the 2 matches we've played.

End of Over 25 (Maiden). Boaties XI: 57-3, runrate=2.28 (1st Inn: 301-10)
Trail by 264 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 293-10 & 329-3 dec)
Overs left today: 63
Sansom 3-1-4-1
Mc* 1 (7 balls)
Purcell 27 (59 balls)

Last Wicket: Carsley c. Chatterton b. Sansom 19 (FOW: 54/3)

End of Over 78 (Maiden). Inter Lancs: 258-4, runrate=3.31 (1st Inn: 174-10)
Lead by 28 runs. (General Stars 404-4 dec)
Overs left today: 49
Waters 14-4-36-2
Hendrie* 0 (13 balls)
Hardy 128 (218 balls)

Last Wicket: Middleton c. Browne b. Waters 58 (FOW: 257/4

Going to need a repeat of the first innings collapse from their boys here for me to force a result!!

Ever so slight worry that my motley crew of bowlers might bowl them out, but we should still be safe for the draw.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Alphin Lightning

Alphin Lightning have resumed their innings.

Pitch: Green

End of Over 156 (2 runs). Alphin Lightning: 994-4, runrate=6.37 (1st Inn: 404-3)
Lead by 1315 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 83-10)
Overs remaining today: 45
Thelwell 26-0-160-2
Mckenna* 230 (205 balls)
Custis 16 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Bittner c. Hogg b. Thelwell 131 (FOW: 960/4)

I think the win is now beyond them and the only possible results are a win for me or a draw. I'd live to think i'll take the 5 remaining wickets but you can never be sure. So far I've been pleased with my tactics, i just hope i didn't leave it too long before declaring, although 88 overs should be enough to bowl this team out.

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 48 (1 runs). Boaties XI: 132-5, runrate=2.75 (1st Inn: 301-10)
Trail by 189 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 293-10 & 329-3 dec)
Overs left today: 40
Burns 11-4-25-1
Purcell* 76 (131 balls)
Ashton 3 (34 balls)

Last Wicket: Brush b. Sansom 11 (FOW: 107/5)
