FC - Match 7

MrB

Life President
Cricket is for girls v ShrimperZone CC

Pretty much a promotion decider today:

1. ShrimperZone CC 6 3 0 3 0 28 15 97
2. Cricket is for girls 6 3 0 3 0 24 16 94

Sunny/C&H/Sunny is the forecast so a vital toss to win and we managed it. Set ourselves to hopefully bat all day. Digana makes his debut (though is on invigorated fitness after his owner GFId on Friday) but we didn't pick up another bowler so Hartburn continues as the 5th bowler for now. 4 spinners and they play on a dusty, lovely.

We can tell you that ShrimperZone CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 4 (1 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 11-0, runrate=2.75
Overs left today: 106
George 2-1-1-0
Cunningham* 9 (14 balls)
Tate 2 (10 balls)

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Alphin Lightning

Playing a semi-bot, so I know we'll draw this one already. Only question is how many points we'll pick up. PFL shot to bits, so resting everyone bar Pollock, as he's the only one at Sublime (BTW had to buy him back on Saturday as I didn't want to let him go for less than 8m).

We can tell you that Alphin Lightning won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy day.

End of Over 13 (6 runs). Alphin Lightning: 61-1, runrate=4.69
Overs left today: 97
Wilkey 7-0-21-0
Lekgetho* 23 (29 balls)
Mcinally 25 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Mangal lbw b. Wadiwell 13 (FOW: 21/1)

DIBS DIPPERS v Mid-Cup Barmies

4th placed Mrs BB takes on the side in 5th. If she wins, she'll be safe from relegation. All her squad is at Sublime, so she's at full-strength.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy day.

End of Over 15 (Maiden). Mid-Cup Barmies: 46-4, runrate=3.07
Overs left today: 95
Kealey 1-1-0-2
Mclean* 12 (27 balls)
Luckie 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Edrick c. Stride b. Kealey 0 (FOW: 46/4)

Not a great start, losing Richie early to their weakest bowler and the makeweight Tate goes as well. Sandy and Lamo now making good progress.

End of Over 16 (7 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 62-2, runrate=3.88
Overs left today: 94
George 8-3-25-0
Lamey* 20 (25 balls)
Sandile 30 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Tate c. Hazell b. Huckerby 2 (FOW: 13/2)

hoping for a 2-day win. won the toss to bowl at them under the clouds, all on track thus far. new quickie 18yo Devine in the wickets again.

End of Over 25 (3 runs). Sir Orac's Knights: 53-5, runrate=2.12
Overs left today: 85
Harmison 6-3-11-1
Lisbie* 8 (36 balls)
Owen 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Julian c. Odonague b. Harmison 0 (FOW: 53/5)

in transfer news, banked 650k this morning from the sale of two reserve bats.

Can't wait to see the 2nd innings bowling figures, should be some corkers :)

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Alphin Lightning

Alphin Lightning won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 29 (4 runs). Alphin Lightning: 183-1, runrate=6.31
Overs remaining today: 81
Herbert 3-0-23-0
Lekgetho* 87 (80 balls)
Mcinally 81 (88 balls)

Last Wicket: Mangal lbw b. Wadiwell 13 (FOW: 21/1)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB on course for a comfortable win.

DIBS DIPPERS v Mid-Cup Barmies

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green
The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 29 (Maiden). Mid-Cup Barmies: 58-10, runrate=2.00
Overs remaining today: 81
Kealey 7-6-6-5
Talia* 0 (9 balls)

A very productive morning session. Hoping we can get to about 450 today if we can keep wickets intact.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 35 (1 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 149-2, runrate=4.26
Overs left today: 75
Albertus 9-0-29-0
Lamey* 55 (77 balls)
Sandile 82 (88 balls)

Last Wicket: Tate c. Hazell b. Huckerby 2 (FOW: 13/2)

Like MrB, the General Stars vs. Inter Lancs match is pretty much a title contest although if a draw occurs, it could let others into the jostle for the top spot.

Very important toss to win as partially cloudy today, sunny tomorrow and partially cloudy again on Thursday.

End of Over 38 (6 runs). Inter Lancs: 116-3, runrate=3.05
Overs left today: 72
Deane 5-2-13-0
Davis* 22 (48 balls)
Middleton 22 (32 balls)

Last Wicket: Womack lbw b. Raven 33 (FOW: 85/3)

Raven removing Womack £75,000 p/w batter was a big wicket but they do have good strength in their team.

£470,000 into the coffers.

Kev

Sandy goes and an unfit Macca is dragging the pace down again.

End of Over 42 (7 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 168-3, runrate=4.00
Overs left today: 68
George 14-3-52-1
Lamey* 63 (96 balls)
Mcleod 10 (22 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Hazell b. George 82 (FOW: 152/3)

The Great Unwashed v Southend United

Another battle for the top spot here

1. Southend United 6 4 2 0 0 14 18 88
2. The Great Unwashed 6 2 1 3 0 26 18 84

A sunny day today on a H&F pitch with bowling conditions the next two meant I wanted to win the toss, but didn't and was put in to bowl, and the game's pretty balanced so far.

End of Over 46 (1 runs). The Great Unwashed: 165-5, runrate=3.59
Overs left today: 64
Gichki 9-2-39-1
Williamson* 2 (9 balls)
Hindle 3 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Horne b. Walker 31 (FOW: 163/5)

Hmmm, maybe my 'batting the day out' was an ambitious target as Macca and Sini fall in successive overs. Need to get at least 4 batting points so we can make sure we hold a lead in the event of a draw (which will be in our own hands to force).

End of Over 53 (1 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 207-5, runrate=3.91
Overs left today: 57
Cowan 12-5-27-1
Lamey* 80 (132 balls)
Benjamin 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. George b. Cowan 4 (FOW: 207/5)

We've got a point

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Alphin Lightning

Alphin Lightning won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 57 (Maiden). Alphin Lightning: 361-3, runrate=6.33
Overs remaining today: 53
Wilkey 16-1-67-1
Mcinally* 170 (173 balls)
Bittner 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Mckenna c. Richards b. Wilkey 38 (FOW: 361/3)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB going well, not sure she'll get another go at them today though.

DIBS DIPPERS v Mid-Cup Barmies

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 27 (3 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 115-1, runrate=4.26
Lead by 57 runs. (Mid-Cup Barmies 58-10)
Overs remaining today: 54
Talia 7-0-29-1
Potter* 67 (98 balls)
Hutton 14 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Stride b. Talia 30 (FOW: 85/1)

Hmmm, May not even make 300 now. My hopes of batting long enough to be able to dictate whether we draw are now looking slim. Just Mario to come on the batting front.

End of Over 66 (5 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 253-6, runrate=3.83
Overs left today: 44
Huckerby 17-2-87-2
Benjamin* 24 (34 balls)
Graham 0 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey Run Out 101 (FOW: 248/6)

A decent ninth wicket partnership has helped to give me a bit of respectability, although anything less than a win here will surely mean I am relegated.

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 70 (12 runs). The Flying Scotsmen: 270-8, runrate=3.86
Overs left today: 40
Horsfield 17-2-73-2
Padmakumara* 9 (27 balls)
Sansom 58 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Burns c. Bayley b. Spillane 7 (FOW: 233/8)

End of Over 26 (6 runs). Pettefershire CCC: 161-0, runrate=6.19
Lead by 59 runs. (Sir Orac's Knights 102-10)
Overs left today: 37
Mofokeng 4-0-35-0
Hamilton* 78 (72 balls)
Thornley 77 (89 balls)

Graham and Mario prodding the score along. Hope they can get to 320.

End of Over 82 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 299-7, runrate=3.65
Overs left today: 28
George 23-4-89-1
Marriott* 13 (26 balls)
Graham 12 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Benjamin Run Out 43 (FOW: 276/7)

After some really attritional overs Mario decides to start swinging and gets us a 4th batting point.

End of Over 87 (16 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 324-7, runrate=3.72
Overs left today: 23
Zithulele 9-0-48-1
Graham* 16 (70 balls)
Marriott 33 (42 balls)

Last Wicket: Benjamin Run Out 43 (FOW: 276/7)

Very pleased to finish there. Great 8th wicket partnership. They get 8 overs in the sun then we get to have a go at them in the cloudy conditions tomorrow.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 100 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 379-10, runrate=3.79
Overs left today: 10
Huckerby 23-3-103-3
Graham* 39 (109 balls)

Lovely, Mario nips out their two openers cheaply leaving them at 16/2. Roll on the crap weather, they need another 216 to avoid the follow on, if we can nick another one early I'd fancy us to force it.

Superb day for me. Bowled Inter Lancs out for 174 in 70 overs and then reached 116-2 at stumps with losing us just losing Cavanagh and Deane!

Kev

One man show here!

End of Over 16 (Maiden). Cricket is for girls: 19-5, runrate=1.19
Trail by 360 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 379-10)
Overs left today: 104
Marriott 8-3-7-5
Hazell* 1 (8 balls)
Cowan 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Lucky st. Lamey b. Marriott 2 (FOW: 19/5)
