I'd have to put Leon Cort in. Why? Because about 4 years ago, we got beat at home off Northampton and were rooted to 2nd bottom of the 4th Division in old money. After the game my lad and I queued up for Canvey cup-tie tickets.

At about 6, when Leon came out, he saw the long, long queue that dark and cold evening, despite our seemingly imminent demise, and came up to my lad, shook his hand and said "Don't worry, we'll turn it round. We can let down support like this" whilst ruffling his hair. There was a look in his eye, which I swear to this day had an effect on him and perhaps the team if he'd told them what he saw, that said "We will NOT let this club die."

Football abilities are variable, but in life you've either got it or you haven't. Class.

FATSHRIMP good point about tilly, he was a good player for us no doubt but there has been a few that just pip him to the team and webb took us to the top of the championship (then div 2 of course) which again just beats his back to back promotions obviously relegation from champ counted against
