Favourite Southend shop.

There used to be a shop that sold toys opposite Victory Sports ground. Used to love going in there as a kid.

my favourite toy shop as a kid was at the top of Elm Road (?) just before you come into Leigh Broadway - I think it was called Richards, just along from where Fives record shop was at one point.

Actually, I quite like the downstairs bit of Havens (or is it Ravens, always get them confused!) in Clifftown Road.

That clown looks , how shall I say, a strange person. Child entertainers always seem a bit odd. I would not let that clown near my children --- but then they are 28 & 30.

blimey this thread is bringing back memories!!

used to love the video shop on the chase / grove road x-roads - it was the first place to have Street Fighter 2. Byrons was good as well until it was taken over - remember us all going in after school to "see mr patel" - first pakistani shop owner we had seen, and he pushed one of my mates into the magazines!!

in southend, bassment records was the place to be!! also, remember everyone talking about oh yeah down southchurch road, but i never understood that place! beatties in keddies was great, and there were some lifts in there that went up to the offices, hours of fun playing knock down ginger in a workplace.

"Tony's" newsagent in London Road was always worth a visit to see Harry, who was happy to provide me with cigarettes at a tender age. also spent plenty of time abusing the staff in Killjoys (kilroys) down sutton road.

It's where I learned to fall over without hurting myself. A kind of urban assault course for 4 year olds if you like..

This one?

Salvo, he used to know my Nan very well, top man.

Senga's Fav shop is a garage, the one that sells the funny little cars in Leigh, they are tiny Automatics and look really cool.

Greens for the name of the garage and cars??

I know the one you mean Dave, he specialises in Japenese imports.

The funny little car you are on about is called a Nissan Figaro:

Picked a nice pink one for Senga.

P.S - The name of the garage is Japenese Imports.

Shouldnt of read this thread! Makes you a little bit home sick!

:'(

I used to love Keddies - only coz my old dear worked there probably and always used to go see her on Saturdays before the match.

Not classed a shop but the old chalk and cheese at the bottom of the plaza. Was always a good time in there with proper beer!
