Quote[/b] (Napster @ Dec. 24 2003,09:43)]The best Xmas number one was in 1971: Benny Hill - Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West)
'Now Ernie had a rival, an evil looking man
Called Two Ton Ted from Teddington
And he drove the bakers van'

Are those not the greatest lyrics ever?

As I've previously stated, in my opinion 'Fairytale Of New York' is the only decent Christmas song ever made.

For favourite all time song, well it changes all the time - largely depends on what I've been listening to recently. However on my mini-disc player going into work this morning I had on some Rolling Stones and 'Sympathy For The Devil' actually made the trudge though Bank tube station to the Central Line bearable - therefore currently that is my all time favourite.

Favourite song is probably
Coldplay-Clocks.

favourite Xmas song, is Stanta a spoof of Stan, by Chris Moyles, very funny indeed!

not sure of the title but i think it is merry xmas by slade, all i can see are those re-runs on top of the pops with Noddy Holder. As for the best song ever so many to choose from,Bon jovi Livin on a prayer,Europe final countdown, knicker thief Madness, anything by the Jam and really anything from Madness come to think of it.

I don't think i could pick my favourite song ever as i've got a few fav's.

Stone Sour - Bother
Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
Blink 182 - First Date
Foo Fighters - All My Life
Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly
Bowling For Soup - Girl All The Bad Guys Want
Matchbox Twenty - Bright Lights
Matchbox Twenty - Unwell

etc, etc. I Could go on! Stone Sour probably just sneaks it though.

My favourite Christmas song is probably Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade, although i'm sure The Darkness' Christmas single will rival that as the years go on.

One of my favourites at the moment is 'It’s The End of The World as We Know It' by R.E.M

I also really like:

Anything by Muse
Anything by Coldplay
'Dont Look back at the Sun' by the Libertines
'Just Because' by Jane's Addiction
'2+2=5' and 'There There' by Radiohead
'The passenger' by Iggy Pop
'Pass it on' by The Coral
'Silence is easy' by Starsailor
'You got the style', El Salvador' and 'Westside' by Athlete

and

'Nice Weather for Ducks' by Lemon Jelly

Oh, i forgot Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love that song. I recommend for anyone who likes them, to get the Greatest Hits & Videos CD/DVD combi. I got it for Crimbo and it's excellent.
