Fat Lot of good that done, then...

True but 5 or 6 potential England players are in the same team at City (I know I sound like I'm a city fan, I'm not) and if they play every week together they can learn how they play together which can only be a good thing, instead of 2 or 3 people in the england team knowing how to play together and not understanding how the rest like to play

Thats a good point but England managers always seem to pick players based on their individual rather than collective ability. I vaguely remember the Euro 2000 competition was a classic example. Keegan had the opportunity to pick the famous Arsenal back five but he went with Phil Neville - a right footer - at left back who gave away a pen which helped us lose to Romania.
