What he is more known for is the champion of the 'Oi!' movement, which the Cockney Rejects as well as the Angelic Upstarts were the fore-runners. During his tenure as chief journo at Sounds magazine, he promoted this style of 'street-punk' and of course, the skinhead section in particular.
Apparantly he stood in some election in 2005 for the Independant England party, which he is something to do with?

maybe he was...I dont remember, but at thetime he was a member of the SWP (socialist workers party) and got beaten up by NF(national front) members for being anti white(?)...funny how he then went all nationalistic and right wing in his later professional life.

I liked a lot of the bands from the time..**** Sparrer, Blitz, 4-skins to name a few, but the current crop of bands such as Retaliator really do worry me with thier 'nationalistic' stances, that are not rascist, but very 'theres only one england..and the rest of the world is sh!te'....it borders on the rascist, without being rascist.

In spain as well as many countries, the Skinhead movement is massive and most are truely anti political and are members of S.H.A.R.P (Skinheads against racial predudice) and I've played many gigs with black skinheads in the crowd..
