Serious overreaction. The prize money, even for winning the final is awful, I’m sure in the earlier rounds it’s even worse. Would we break even with a sub 1000 crowd? Even with a 2000 crowd? Is it even worth it?Bit of an overreaction. Lots of people don’t particularly rate the League Cup as a competition, but they aren’t accused of pathetic disrespect to League football.

Appreciated. And for the lower teams it certainly is not a joke. At this point in time, against a team who fans don’t travel well and who we don’t want to play and in our financial position, having 1000 fans knocking around Roots Hall does not make sense. We will lose money hosting this match. You haven't explained why it is "a joke". Sporting contests aren't simply about how much money you get for winning matches.
Oops. Looks like someone's already noted thatIf we follow the added time in the World Cup for time wasting, the match with BW could go on all night.

We lose money playing every league season too.Appreciated. And for the lower teams it certainly is not a joke. What-ever the attendance, it's a few more £'s in the kitty, than had we been drawn away?.Most definitely.
This could be in the hundreds.
I printed those in the 70's on a Heidelberg Letterpress Platen, numbered & perforated whilst printing them!. Those were the days....!.I can remember when Season Tickets were actually small books of tear out tickets. Each ticket did not have the match printed on them only a number, and at the turnstiles they had a board with the ticket number that was required, for some reason these did not go in sequence, so you had to thumb through the book to find the right numbered ticket.
At the back of the book were FA Cup tickets again all numbered including Qtr Final, Semi Final, and Final. Always made me laugh at the optimism of my club.
Sure but do we get a cut of the gate receipts if played away from home? We will lose a lot of money hosting this game at Roots Hall.What-ever the attendance, it's a few more £'s in the kitty, than had we been drawn away?.
I've no idea, but on that basis & predictable a low crowd the week before Christmas, most teams would prefer to be drawn away?.Sure but do we get a cut of the gate receipts if played away from home? We will lose a lot of money hosting this game at Roots Hall.
Do you have any idea of out match day costs? We lose money playing every league season too.
I think we were all hoping for a decent away trip… I know I was.I've no idea, but on that basis & predictable a low crowd the week before Christmas, most teams would prefer to be drawn away?.
They certainly were the days before the bucket and sponge merchants....I printed those in the 70's on a Heidelberg Letterpress Platen, numbered & perforated whilst printing them!. Those were the days....!.
We should have felt a little bit ashamed at receiving a trophy after the play-offs —two teams who had outperformed us over the season and finished 2nd and 3rd in the table got nothing. And the couple of play-off winning trophies...
Exactly, i did a 5 year apprenticeship!. Now it's probably 5 weeks FFS!. It was a skilled profession back then!.They certainly were the days before the bucket and sponge merchants....
