Evolution proven in a Lab !!!

Er.... yes is does. Without covering old ground - Are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible? No. Was Adam created from dust in the ground? Yes.
Lol :).

It says he created animals, so no it doesn't mention dinosaurs, but on my reckoning they're animals. Gonna have to do better then that MK ;)

Depends what you class as faith. Yes, I put my faith in science and totally refuse to believe in a "god" or "creator" as science can be proved or disproved - maybe not immediately but at some point in the future.
You put your faith in science, but it's blind faith as you don't do the research! At least with my faith I put it in God and actually spend time praying, and even read scientific books investigating Christianity.

I'm not a scientist! Its not my job to prove or disprove scientific theories that would be way over my head. That's why we have men and women doing research in universities, and in places like CERN and I'd put no belief in a book that would be biased in only one direction.

If God created the T-Rex Adam and Eve would of been a snack, not the first people on the planet. Or was The Garden of Eden more like Jurrassic Park?

I think friedham is being a little harsh , however i am shocked at you saying that MK. Yes its a scientist profession to look into the research but its also yours to look and question what they bring out you know. They can still be wrong.

Also friedham, theres the beast and Babylon in revelations , so theres the beast with 2 backs at least :D . funny really as 666 is a solar number (yes 616 is teh devil but its not the same) where as Babylon means gateway to the city of the sun. Makes you wonder what it could mean dosnt it ?

I don't know how I would begin to disprove scientific theory regarding the more in depth issues of string theory, parallel universes etc. I'm sure they can still be wrong, and that why people with PHD's do that kind of thing.

Perhaps that's why religion is the easy answer to understanding why we're here?

Well on the Dinosaur thread , the whole sciecne was created by plucky amatures, collating their own information and demonstrating to the biologist of the day that their deas could be changed.

Its as bad to not question science as it is to accept anything blindly. If you dont have the basics of it you can alwasy ask ;) .

But the basics have been proved hundreds of years ago and are now an established fact. There is little point me trying to say that gravity is a load of old hoo-ha!

But you can question what gravity is , as they have no defined souurce say like a graviton for instance ? Its effects are known but not neccesarly its creation. Its alwasy worth challanging everything

I'm sure it is, and like I say, there are people far more intellegent and educated than me doing exactly that.

to paraphrase though...

Fred isn't a religious professor! It's not his job to prove or disprove religious artefacts that would be way over our heads. That's why we have men and women doing research in universities, and i'd put no belief in a person/scientist that would be biases in only one direction.

Just for fairness. ;)

I understood it to be the brainchild of Marc Bolan, with a little help from Mickey Flynn and Bill Legend.

:offtopic: I know, but I'd just like to take this opportunity to say Bill Legend used to live down my road in Hockley. And is now, I believe, the only surviving member of T-Rex.

and just to get back on topic...

Evolution? I couldn't give a monkey's....

Tenuous link but Bill Legend plays in the same band as my wife's cousin, along with Suzi Quatro's ex-husband/guitarist.

Glad to here evolution proven in a lab, sorry to here its not yet proven anywhere else though!
This thread is really the 'Religious' Thread resurrected (!) under a different name.
In one respect I agree with MK (for once!) that there are far cleverer people on this kind of stuff - and some of those far cleverer people have serious doubts about evolution.
I work with someone who is a keen fossil collector and dealer in his spare time - I move in pretty exciting circles - and we've had a few debates on this.
One of the key points he has had to concede is that there are serious gaps in the fossill records ie there is often a whole load of new species appearing in the fossil records at regular intervals but no fossils indicating development from one species to another - his view is that he has 'faith' that these missing fossils are out there and will be found one day!
I have read that the six 'days' of creation in the English translations of the Bible can be interpreted as six 'periods of time' in the original Hebrew - thus making the Bible more consistent with the actual fossil records than the theory of evolution - with the succession of types of species appearing being consistent with the order in the six 'days' of creation in the Bible.

Heavens yes (pun not intended) . The extensions seem almost specificly targetd . I mean how weird is it you kill off all Dinosaurs yet weirdly crocidiles , Tortouises and other modern reptiles still loved hmm . Why have the Crocdiles for instance remained un changed while the only decendants of dinosaurs are most likley your average Sparrow :D

The metorite theory is bollox IMHO (it would have taken everything out and small to mid Dinsouars would have survived !!)

Well technically there were 7 days created y the 7 dietioes who procided over each of the 7 days, tis most odd that the days of the week the root names refer to dieities ; ) (ill try find a list ).
