Essex Love-IN

What really annoys me is that if you don't go to an away match and listen to the game on the radio you always seem to get "And now its over to Layer Road for good news". Good news meaning that Col Ewe have scored or something, how the bl**dy hell can that be good news.

Or we're pressing for a late winner and just at a vital moment "It's over to Layer Road", and the Col ewe commentator just drones on and on about Col ewe, nobody bl**dy well cares, bu**er off. So lets go back to the Southend game, OH sorry the games, over Southend drew..

The moral of the story, go to Away games don't listen to them on the Radio.

The last time Col Ewe played Borient was 10 years ago. It will be weird seeing them play, wondering what to think if one of them miraculously manages to score a goal.

Actually, serious question for a minute, am I correct in thinking all, part or none of the following is true:

1) It's going to cost £26 to sit in your lego stadium next season
2) There are no boozers within a 10-minute on-foot dash of the ground
3) It's nowhere near any decent public transport links
4) Car parking is going to cost £10

1) Nope - tickets in the South Stand, where the away fans will be located, range from £20 to £24 for adults, £13 to £16 for concessions (or £5-8 for kids in the family block in the away stand).

2) There are a number of pubs - Dog & Pheasant, Balkerne Gate, Rovers Tye on that side of town. However, number three might help with that.

3) The U's will be running a shuttle bus service from near the train station to the ground which, if you have your match ticket, is free there and back. You can also get on a bus anywhere in the Colchester urban area (ie park in town or on the outskirts) for a £1 which will take you to the shuttle bus location. Details on the club's website or I am happy to email them to you.

4) Correct, although it is hoped that it encourages car sharing. Four of you in a car coming up from London = £2.50 a head.

Hope that helps - I must get back to work now :report:

nice PR attempt, but I cant see many people on this forum defecting to COLYOU, or indeed travelling up from London

Despite living in that area of London for two years, I couldnt possibly comment :)

And spanishshrimper, no PR attempt, just trying to be helpful!

1. Variable in the same stand? Advanced ticket disparity?

2. I'm guessing that all three are to be avoided...

3. Will have to see whether it's a shambles like Brighton, or decent like Swansea's...

4. It's normally £2.50 per car, not £2.50 per head...!

Is that the going rate for a stolen car in that area?

Love in with Col Ewe fans...... :puke

Does make me feel physically sick just thinking of it, thats not including their third nipples and 9th finger that they seem to all have.

A COL EWE FAN ON A PIECE OF STRING

ONE TEAM IN ESSEX!!!!!!!:support:

I'd rather be friends with a Col U fan than a filthy Hamster mockney wannabee...at least Col U are an Essex team, and their recent good fortunes (last season apart obviously), combined with our upturn in status can only be good for the county.

Anyway...no point in me making enemies with nice people, as I have been working on their stadium for over 18 months!!
