Essex Love-IN

TrueBlue

SJP Taxi & Private Hire ⭐️
Are anybody of you out there are getting sick of this Essex love-in, we are having with Colchester supporters on here at the moment?

'Essex football this and Essex football that' give over people we are SOUTHEND UNITED not Essex County Football Club, these farmers from up the A12 should be treated with the contempt they deserve after all what happened to being our RIVALS?

As soon and one of the farmers come on here showing off their new stadium or new signing we all off a sudden go ohhh great for them yeah Essex football WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!

Give over!

It is good for Essex football

But, and cant believe I am saying this, I agree with TB. They are rivals! Our main rivals. Imagine if Rangers applauded Celtic for their fine efforts, or if Arsenal had a love fest with Tottenham. Wouldnt happen. Next we will be holding hands and swinging round may poles with them singing 'One Essex'!!

Bang on my point there mate.

Agree also, doesn't seem right somehow - we'll all be back to the happy clappy hippy days of the 60s if this carries on!

But it wont carry on will it.........Once the season begins i have no doubt the rivalry will kick start. At the moment were all twiddling our thumbs ( all three of them in thier case), waiting for something worthwile to do on a saturday afternoon. So i say leave the status quo till the first ball is kicked in anger.

eesex football, whats essex football then??? how the hell does it matter if col u are doing well and we are doing ****?n thats still good for essex football is it so we can all rest at night knowing that essex football is doing ok??

so portvale are happy being a crappy club, because stoke are doing well its all good for Potteries football

TB ban finishes, controversial Sh!te stirring returns!!!

Welcome back Scott :stunned:

Not trying to stir things I just think we as supporters can become a bit cuddly and cutesy at times when I think at times we need to be hard lined.

Bottom line I care more about SOUTHEND not Essex as a whole!

but cricket is a different story.

Can anyone point out one of these threads for me? The one's I've seen the sad deluded Col Ewe fan has been tolerated, but the inadequacies of it's new stadium, football club and family circle have been clearly explained to it.

i must have been asleep, i hadnt noticed any 'love-in' or indeed any orgy..i'd have been first in the queue!!!

What would be good for Essex foot ball, was if Cull You and SUFC were in the CCC and NOT L1 (hardly compares to other rivalries in the national eye) and Grays, Chelmsford, Thurrock, Canvey got into L2 to compete with Daggers...

We KNOW we are the best team in Essex, just gotta prove it on the pitch!

i don't understand why any SUFC supporter should harbour any resentment towards Colchester -

they are a lovely little club with a great future at a lower level -at least conference within the next few years - and hopefully with time they will like Gillingham develop into a feeder club and rest home for our old pros -

i greatly admire their little band of supporters - and can see how their new
stadium will be a good facility for the community - many Sunday league teams will be able to use it in the future and perhaps WEst ham reserves too .....

they cannot be considered rivals in any sense of the word - its like saying Real Madrid are worried that Tilsons moves in the transfer market will make life difficult for them -

There is only one professional football team in Essex with a future -

I would say the real gap between us and Colchester is a minimum of 2 leagues and would say they will be happily competing with Daggers and Grays as Essexs representatives in the 4th,5th and 6th tiers of league football.

SUFC is a club with the potential to be in the CCC long term and therefore it can only be good that the smaller lower level clubs in the region stay afloat and provide an increased pool of players and supporters to SUFC.

As is the case with Orient supporters - I think in the future some traditional
fans of the lesser clubs will find they might still attend the occasional game at Brisbane Road or at the new shed on the A12 but will be living for the big
southend game at the weeked.

all welcome - the future is Blue -

I knew it couldn't last  :D

Can't wait for the season to get started to be honest, and looking forward to the first friendly next week!

Actually, serious question for a minute, am I correct in thinking all, part or none of the following is true:

1) It's going to cost £26 to sit in your lego stadium next season
2) There are no boozers within a 10-minute on-foot dash of the ground
3) It's nowhere near any decent public transport links
4) Car parking is going to cost £10

Dunno about the first question. It's hard to believe that ticket prices will have been set yet, but the others are wrong.

The ground is approx the same distance the other side of Prittlewell station (maybe up to twice as far, so a 10 min walk rather than 5 mins) and so all the pubs will still be in the locale.

Er, I was kind of asking the Colchester fan but thanks for taking the time to answer!
