One of the members said to me there is a few issues with Chopra and he isn't very popular amongst his teammates.Essex aren't that bothered about 20 20 nowadays it seems.Going for cheap unallocated season ticket next season

I wonder what sort of following the t20 will have from next season onwards with the new 100 coming.
It is obvious that Essex are not taking it seriously enough. I just hope with our position in the championship we are looking to draft in an overseas replacement for Siddle

I agree will be interesting to see how 100 ball tournament affects 20 20.Id say half of the people at 20 20 games are often more interested in a booze up rather than cricket! Siddle is a big loss.Maybe Amir will play 4 day but I wouldn't bank on it

I'd love Amir but have heard he is going to the Caribbean premier league and the fact that he's not got a contract for the whole of the t20s for us would suggest he's not available.

I don't think we'll be affected massively straight away as we have such a small ground that will sell out for the Friday games whatever happens, but if the knock effect of the 100 ball tournament is that the standard gets even worse and it becomes a tournament to blood young players and you get a team of snater level players then I think you will see it die over the next few years

I agree.I love all 3 formats of the game but I'd always put 4 day. first.Having said that I want to see better in 20 20s.Pay my gate money and like to see us perform better.Last Thursday against Hampshire was dire.Shame Amir just going for 20 20 format but with financial rewards you cant blame players

Know anything else Tia, both Chopra and Ravi playing in the 2nds so both are fit. Seems really odd this? you being a member might be able to shed some light?

I dont know much to be honest.A member there who is a friend of a friend is knowledgable there and he told me that Ravi seems to pick and choose games a bit these days.I dont know if that's true or not.

Would be odd if he's picking to play 2nd XI games and not 1st XI games. I've heard a few things about Ravi over the years that make me believe he is a very selfish guy

Yeah I think he may well have that side to his personality.
 
It was awful but another sell out, while we sell out every game the powers that be won't be too bothered that we put in awful performances. It was a great wicket and I'd say a par score was 200 and that would have been roughly the Somerset score if it hadn't been for Beard's awful overs. The Batting was terrible, I know there was scoreboard pressure but still awful on a wicket that was doing nothing for the bowlers.

I think its a write off now, I wouldn't look to replace Amir at the end when his contract finishes. I would rather we concentrated on replacing Siddle in the 4 day game.

Have Cook returning so I would guess if we replace Siddle it might be with a batsman.

We might be light batting in the t20 but with Sir Alistair and Browne both good for the championship I would want to replace Siddle like for like personally. The balance as it stands has got us to top spot. Little chef is a decent bowler but not in the same league as Siddle
