Essex CCC 2017

We haven't found the right combinations yet in T20 cricket, but that's understandable. Losing Tamim was a huge blow. It unbalanced our batting line-up. This T20 season is now about finding the right balance for next year.

Wheater opening is an interesting one. I've thought previously that it's worth trying as he gets value for his shots, but maybe he's a Matt Prior type batsmen whose fast scoring in fc cricket doesn't translate as you'd think to limited overs.

(I'd also like to see him open with Walter pinch-hitting - part of this is to muck up bowler's lengths but it's mainly because I'd find it hilarious, like when Capello(?) kept on picking the useless Shaun Wright-Phillips, only so he could have him come on as a sub with Crouchinho).

sounded a decent day against the W Indies. We are short of batting and bowling now so a proper shoot out for a place or 2 in our title winning team

Didn't realise we were playing Yorkshire this weekend. Will be without Cook and Westley but no reason we can't win. Wonder what the team will be without them?

Browne, Chopra, Bopara, Lawrence, ten Doeschate, Zaidi, Foster, Walter, Amir, Harmer, Porter ?

Blimey! we bowled Yorkshire out for just 110. Looked even better when they were 74-9, but they put up a bit of a stand in the end.
