Escape to Essex!

Also parked up near the the A406 by the North Middlesex hospital. Walked through a lovely area to get to/from the ground with the highlight being the shrine to a Javi, presumably the latest to be killed on the estate. But defying death, blinding place to park & home to Maldon by 11.50!

I parked 2 mins from the ground, left bang on 11 and was back in Southend by 12

Having worked at Spurs my knowledge of the shortcuts through estates came in handy. 10mins is all I took to get out

Good of him to give you a lift. Was he disappointed with the result? Did he say whether he thought he would be going in the transfer window, and who to?

lol, very good. Spent most of the trip saying ' PASS THE FECKING BALL!! '

Home at 2am!! After waiting in the queue at WHL station, the police told us to go to the Underground. Apparently there were extra trains from WHL and were 8 coaches, but these all turned up before the game had finished as they didnt think it would go to extra time. The last train from Liverpool Street (00:50) was packed with Shrimpers.

Gave up on White Hart Lane after seeing the queues, got a bus in High Road to Liverpool St., walked round to Fenchurch St. and caught the packed 00.25 with the added bonus of the intoxicated guy sitting behind us chundering all over the floor before staggering off at Basildon!. Got to Leigh about 1.20 and then took about 10 minutes climbing the steps up to Marine Parade in thick fog. Gave the other half a good kick when i got into bed as in my opinion she should have been at the station waiting for me.

I'd already been told by Spurs fans to go nowhere near WHL station, so went to the other line, Northumberland Park. First train was rammed, a proper rugby scrum to get on board - so in hindsight this might have been equally as bad!!

No wonder Spurs are seriously contemplating a move away from that area though. Made a trip to Maine Road look almost inviting!!

Not too bad other than the long walk to the tube station.
I was going to do it that way and drive to walthamstow but decided in the end to get the coach with both my ankle biters, wrong call got home to woodham at 1:30!

Helpful of TFL to neglect to put a sign up at the nearest bus stop to WHL with the important info that lots of the buses were diverted after Spurs home games... after waiting for approximately 4 days in the cold, ended up walking down the High Road, picking up a random buse to Angel, then tubing it to London Bridge, where I (after having to sprint through the station twice for a platform change) just made it onto my last train- back at 12.40 for a journey of about 7 miles...

we knew the traffic and the trains would be bad, so we walked back, it took 4hours, some of the way cockles carried me on his shoulders, as the fog was bad, and we needed to see over the tops of the trees, csj had his torch with him, and shined it on the floor to guide us through

Got a train pretty much straight away from Northumberland Park and caught the 11.15 from Liv St to Hockley. Home by 12.20. Not too bad considering some peoples experiences

Well as it went to extra time I missed my last train home. I ended up getting back to Dad of DtS at about 12.30 having used Shooter's Northumberland park route.

So technically as I am at work now I still havent been home after the game and have surely won this contest.

Two minute wait for a train at Northumberland Park, then just made the 11:15 at Liverpool Street. Back home (which is now Hutton) before 12

Having left my car at Benfleet, I thought I'd have a relatively simple treck, getting the last train from Liv St (C2C operate a 23.58 service) as it was past Fenchurch Street's bedtime (as usual)!
Now, having taken a wrong turning out of the ground into an area which can only be described as making Harlem look like Knightsbridge, we ended up walking for about 2 miles to Silver Street station (nothing remotely precious about the silver in that particular street) and actually getting a seat on the 23.30 to Liv St. Pulling into WHL (next stop) a Hillsborough esque crush ensued....the train leaving about 5 minutes later!
Got to Liv St about 2 minutes after my last train left, so was forced to get on the train to Rayleigh, whereby we were entertained by some Man City fan doing a repeat Tommy Cooper show for about 45 minutes! As if this wasn't bad enough, I then had to wait in Arctic conditions for a cab (behind about 60 people) to Benfleet Station to collect my car, which was now resembling a rather large block of ice. Eventually got back at 2.00am!
