Escape to Essex!

The Watermill Wino

Coach Guru⭐🦐
I can now see the reason for the delay in planning for Fossets re ROADS and access. The whole exit strategy from WHLane was farcical, gridlocked cars, traffic management stuttering and wayning, frustrated drivers cutting up on the inside and causing more grief. I was amazed to see the Shrimper coaches all ranked up with 2 CHiPs ready to escort it out, some half a mile from where they set down the passengers.
Spurs or the Police would have the coaches moved not the Trust I would have thought.
AARRRRRGHH! Worse than Yeovil, and the Mill Stad.

Well done everyone on and off the pitch.
What time did you get home?

Yep, can only echo this..

Took us 1hr 45 mins to get up Tottenham High Rd to the N. Circular, then only 40 mins from there..

I thought Old Trafford was bad, until yesterday.

Was home at 12.20 - mind you our driver was a bit of a lunatic, and how we didn't have an accident between WHL and the North Circular god knows!

1.35am. It was indeed the police that cocked things up for The Trust coaches. Not only did they give a number of our travellers wrong directions back to the supposed coach park, which in effect was little more than an industrial estate, causing an aprox 50 minutes delay in leaving but also caused chaos with their insistence that all 15 coaches leave together through their makeshift escorted route.

It's bad enough for public transport too. Mile and a half walk to the nearest tube...what a joke. It took two hours from leaving the ground to getting home to Uxbridge!

0140 home - the coach was held back until past midnight. Not sure why (that's my tactful way of saying somebody got lost!)...

It took me 2hrs 2mins to get home, a whole 15.5 miles.

Sorry to be so specific, but I was so bored stuck in traffic that I spent the whole journey playing with the computer.

got home 01.30. took 45 mins to travel home but took an hour to get out of the traffic. did anyone else see all those accidents on the way home. there was about 2 or 3!

No one got 'lost' as such.

When the coaches dropped off at WHL each coach was given a Map of where the Coaches would be parked after the game (in Edmonton

).
1 Map between 49 to 55 punters is not bad going !!!!!

However on exiting the ground some of our supporters were sent in totally the wrong direction by the Police, causing them to arrive back late at the Coaches.

The Police that were waiting with the Coaches did bugger all to help get these 'lost' supporters reunited with the Coaches and it was left to Coach Organisers to keep ringing them & give them the right directions.

This was a total **** up by the local Police who were more concerned about being late for supper than looking for our missing travellers.

i don't want to boast, but i walked for 20 mins, got a bus for 5 mins and was home watching the highlights at 11:10

home games are a bit of a pain to get to though!

Took us only 55 Minutes to get home, but this is mainly because we parked up in Edmonton right near the North Circular.

Friend of ours ( A Spurs Fan) advised to park here and not in Tottenham itself having experienced how difficult it is.

Arrived back in Southamton at 2.30am disappointed, tired but proud of a great performance on the pitch and the stand! Proud to be a Shrimper in Southampton!

2am!!! Dreadful getting the train from WHL station - queued for over an hour and missed the last train from Fenchurch street!!

It was my first visit to WHL and I wouldnt be in a hurry to go back to be honest!!

Was home at 1am - frist train from Northumberland Park was packed, so had to wait twenty minutes... Train from Fenchurch Street was ok, but had to stand...

Again, will have to echo comments above - WHL won't be a ground I want to visit again in the near future ! !

The trains were awful, waited for over an hour at the station one down from WHL (can't remember the name) and watched 4 trains come and go that were so rammed nobody could get on. In the end got the bus to Seven Sisters, another one to Angel and then a third to Liverpool Street. Really felt for the families with kids who waited with us on the station in the freezing cold all that time.

I got home to Chelmsford at 1.20. The only warming moment in the long queue at WHL station was when a police horse did a 40 second pi$$.

I would imagine those hardy sould that went to Barnsley got home sooner from there than they did from WHL.

Fairly long walk to a deserted Tottenham Hale, empty tube to Walthamstow and a drive from there, home by 12:40am.

Not too bad other than the long walk to the tube station.

It is a terrible place to get away from. I've been a ST holder at Spurs for 3 years and it took one of those years to learn all the short cuts and the quickest routes back home.

From a spurs point of view its a major issue we have with London transport. We simply need a tube station nearby and unless we get these guarantees there is no chance of us being able to expand WHL to the 50,000 we richly deserve (we sell out most home games and have a huge ST waiting list).

Sadly Red Ken doesn't care about Spurs so it looks like we will have to move in the future.
